Developers, Please Address Samurai Kicking

Dear development team,

Apparently the comments regarding party compositions fell on deaf ears during the most recent live letter, sadly.

Today marks the fifth time in the last month I have been kicked from a party finder primal farm group for playing samurai. I have reported this twice with no visible results.

There's a couple ways you can fix this and I believe I'm far from the only person dealing with this. 1. Punish players for doing this or 2. Give them what they want and make samurai a utility job since apparently it's raw DPS isn't good enough for 99% of the primal data center community.

I pull my weight in DPS and then some. There's no reason your other subscribers should be given authority to tell people what they can and can't play as.

Had to deal with this in 2.1 when you buffed Warrior through the roof and nobody would take paladins into coil. Dealing with it again now. Not worth paying a sub for this kind of behavior.

Please address this. Thank you.

The only solution is to start your own group. That way only you can be kicked. As long a meta exists on this game. No other class is safe.

1. Punish players for doing this

You can't really punish people for setting up a party how they want it set up. You can however set up your own party for it. I agree Sam can do with utility, but either way certain jobs will get shafted because of metas. If Sam becomes highly wanted, another job will take the fall, it's how it works and only gets worse the more jobs are added. True balance can't be obtained unless every job plays identically.

They actually can. Although I guess it's partially their fault for kicking you and hurt your feeling instead of just outright preventing SAM from joining PF in the first place.

The really sad part is Byakko is so easy. Why kick a sam, especially one that does good DPS.

Yes, the last few times was with Shinryu EX farming, this time it was for Lakshmi EX, cause you know, totems trade for mount in 4.25.

Fortunately, my raid group isn't fill of closed-minded brats, but I do generally farm primals on my own time. I figured it was just a thing that people would open their eyes about, but it's apparently going the opposite direction now.

I completely agree with you that kicking jobs in primals like ShinEx or LAKSHMI EX (which you can give her a nasty look and she falls over) is incredibly stupid, but SE cannot punish a party leader for choosing the comp for their party. It would be better if they set up the requirements “properly” (as in setting any job locks when creating the PF advertisement), rather than something like: *sees a SAM join* “OMG A SAM. UGH.” *kicks*. But it is their party. Their party, their rules. It sucks, and I won’t say it doesn’t. Like others have said, I would highly recommend setting up your own group.

Just wow... Those same people will set the minimum item level to 350+ for such trivial content because they don't realize that the time saved farming with the optimal gear and comp is negated by the additional time spent finding 7 people who fit those tight requirements.
