Honestly the problem with money in this game is everything is so easy to get. Right down to the most basic of levels.

Gathering for example players don't buy materials from other players because it's so easy just to go and get there own. You can hit ~20 items from a single gathering node a lot of the time even on the top tier materials from timed nodes.

This then means money doesn't circulate or get taken out of the system because instead of buying materials from other players they just go get there own as it's so easy and quick to do.

This is generally why all the gatherers stuff usually sells for ridiculously cheap prices because there's so much of it about and so few people buying it. Level 70 metals aren't any different in price from a lot of the level 50 ones for example on the market board.

Then there's crafted stuff. Generally useless to most players because of its i level. A lot of players will never buy 350 crafted gear when they can ger 350 stuff for free in sigma and 360 stuff with tomes. For it's lifespan the crafted stuff is ridiculously over priced. So it's avoided. Once again gil doesn't circulate.

Then there's simply the amount players get. I lazy moded a lot of the msq and would quite literally teleport to an aetheryte that was less than a minute away on my chocbo just to save time. And as.much as I did that I still finished the msq with more cash than I started. Didn't need to buy anything either cos the quests threw it all at me.

Literally everything is so easy to get and so abundant that gil just sits there accumulating more and more because you just don't need to spend any ever.

About the only thing that has any value really is materia but the problem there is most players still don't buy it because gear just doesn't last long enough to warrant investing in it.
