real money gil sellers already manage to sell... ... ... so ... (just see how much site, and bots)

On the other side, it would solve a big matter with cash shop : we already get a sub system, no need to do a subscrption + F2P system.

Doing the cash shop stuff in game money sink is a good way to have a cash shop less scandalous (you can buy stuff in real money OR ingame money)

While I cannot give a specific date on when personal housing will be implemented, I can say that prices will be completely separate from free company housing, and, naturally, far more affordable.

A: [...]these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.

I'd really rather not give the bot farmers more ways to flaunt their excessive wealth, since some of them have already purchased large houses for their bots just because.

Bot farmers are bot farmers are bot farmers. They're in every game. Asking for additional gil sinks and dealing with bots are two completely separate things. Why run FFXIV if fear of bots are the main concern? Bot farmers are here to stay. They're in every game.

It's absolutely terrible how SE deals with bots. I'm from the US and I started on a US realm. I changed to an EU realm because, on my US server, I got tells from gil sellers the moment I logged in -- literally seconds after I logged on. Gil sellers spam you there and all SE tells us is to BL them. So I do and my BL is full in a week or two and after that, you're just supposed to play the game with a busy status. It's great making friends when you can't send tells. That's the sum total of SE's advice. Oh, and they "publicly" announce how the crack down on them. I play WoW too, on one of the biggest servers. In my 10 years of playing that game, there's only been like 1 week that bots got out of hand. They'd invite you to parties. Blizz slammed that stuff down. Even before the token, Blizz was ruthless about dealing with them.

Bots can be dealt with. They aren't going away, but SE can do 10k+ % more than the little they do now. Instead of potentially cutting game material in fear of bot farmers, how about we all rally and ask SE to do something about this? This BS from bots doesn't happen in any other MMO out there.

It is pretty pathetic that the botting problem is managed more poorly here then it is even in some F2P MMOs.

It doesn't seem like they bother reading the forums, so getting a message directly to their PR somehow feels like the only way we might actually get a proper response out of them.

If you're a glamourholic, purchasing dyes off the MB like the metallic, pure white, jet black dyes you could potentially set you back a few mil gil. Housing redecorating from what I hear can also set you back if you change things up every few months.

You could always lend gil to people in need.

Arent the people with multimillions gil accounts a form of a gold sinks themselves?

They are and if you think about it, if you are going to implement that kind of gil sinks, it will not affect the prices of the certain items on the market anyway, since them having that amount of money does not affect the prices at all. They dont buy stuff the low lvls buy, maybe sometimes for glamour but its not something it hold the newbies back with progression.
What it will affect however will be the number of gil farming bots, there will be a flood with them when the players will start buying gils from sellers for real money.
The worse it will be if the gold sellers will manipulate the market prices and lift them up with certain market techniques there are. It will encourage them to farm more gil and therefore there will be more gil running around the market as a result, since the prices of the unique items being so high you need a lot of time to gather enough amount of gil to buy it.
It wont change anything and if so, it may ever lift up the prices of the most needed items by the players trying to manipulate the market and setting the prices of their own.

This game doesnt have money lacking problem for new players, the best items and inventory is only obtainable with the specialized currency or with activity and doing duties. Gils are useful mainly for housing and glamour. As a new player myself i never had a problems with gils, hah to be honest, i have spend more gil already on glamour than on buying equipment i needed, its not hard to get gils anyway and if you do need materia, you could farm them by doing lvling dungeons roullete, or selling them on the market and buy the materia you wanted for cheaper.
