To the same account perhaps. but then I know a few people that would like an option to move characters from one account to another...

husband and wife with 2 charaters on the same account or something such but can't play together cos it means one would have to start from scratch...

or a few players who cant play on the ps4 because they can't unlink a psn account they haven't used for years in order to link there current one. or something such. friend of mine had to create a new psn when he moved because the one he had wouldn't access the eu playstation store..

and sometimes I personally wish I could move my alt to a new account just so I can trade stuff to myself because we still cant mail alts

Sharing an account with a third party is actually a TOS violation. But I think it's put there so SE won't have to get caught up in disputes like a messy divorce or whatever with two parties fighting over an account. For the most part account sharing isn't a big deal until issues from it arise. Also there's already people selling FFXIV characters/accounts with gear. Also a TOS violation. This is part of why there are jump potions now. While I don't mind people sharing accounts or buying characters, it doesn't seem likely that SE will allow characters to be copied/transferred to a different account.
