Latency Issues

Since I started playing the game, roughly six months ago, this has been a problem that hasn't improved even a bit. I talked with people and saw on online posts that before the data center relocation their latency was 150ms at an average. This is how it is right now (Tracert done on 02/17/2018 - GMT -2 Brazilian Time)

My question is very simple, has any effort been made to address this issue? I think not. I have to pay an additional fee to use a tunneling service to be able to achieve that 150ms and if it can be done with tunneling it can be done without it, even World of Warcraft latency is somewhat near 150ms.

This is a problem that ISPs under Telefonica have. As you know, it started after the data center relocation. I had 120ms, now 270-300.

The answer to the absurd increase in latency is in the tracert, the data has to travel to Amsterdam (yes, AMSTERDAM) to then go to San jose in California. The game is almost unplayable and nothing has been done since then.

I play since the beta and my love for the game has been my strength, but i don't know how long i can keep this up since i don't want to pay for a VPN.

If i remember correctly, last year in November the route was optimized and the data went to New York to California, without the ridiculous travel to Europe.

Ping was at 160-180 and it was quite a relief that i was able to play the game properly again but 2018 arrived and the route went back to the one we hate, Amsterdam again.

Super frustrating. Hope something is done so that we can play the game at acceptable levels again because it's quite infuriating playing at almost 300ms.

Yeah, in November the latency dropped to 220 for me, but it was still too much (180 is playable, beyond 200 starts to get annoying specially as someone who plays drg). Now 340ms again

The issue that you are having seems to coincide with the issue being discussed in the following thread. Please look over the following thread and post your information there if relevant.
