    Help me understand Bloodspiller

I swear I've read this tooltip a hundred times and I either forget how to buff it, I misread it, or it just makes my head hurt lol.

So if it wants you in GRIT to buff it, does that mean if your in DARKSIDE as well that doesn't buff it or do you have to be in GRIT alone?

And how the heck do you even pull this off cus I can't think of any times when I'm not using Darkside so this move baffles me

If you on Grit, Bloodspiller got higher potency doesn't matter your Darkside on or off.

Basically, ignore it. The intent was to roughly balance the potency between Grit and non-Grit usage so less aggressive tanks weren't punished as severely for keeping on tank stance. Think of it like Warrior and Inner Beast. You'll never want to actually turn on Grit just for Bloodspiller.

You only ever consider turning off Darkside for long phase transitions to recover some MP. And even then, it's often not worth bothering with most of the time.

Potency is higher when you're in grit, effectively cancels out the damage penalty of using tank stance. Result it does consistent damage whether you're in grit or not.

Darkside is just always on. Not really sure why it's still a button. During a battle it should be on the whole time.

Replace that part of the tooltip with "Ignores Grit damage penalty". That's all it is.

With Grit on, it's still weaker weaker than with Grit off.

    Potency: 400
    Grit Potency: 380 (80% of 475)
    Dark Arts Potency: 540
    Grit+DA: 520 (80% of 650)

So like Bourne said, don't bother turning Grit on just for Bloodspiller.

Considering you do 20% less damage in Grit:

    Dark Arts Potency: 540
80% of Dark Arts + Grit Potency: 520

    Potency: 400
    80% of Grit Potency: 380

Both with and without Dark Arts, Bloodspiller is effectively 20 potency weaker in Grit, when you take into consideration the 20% outgoing damage reduction.

lol what is this Grit 20% less dmg Darkside 20% dmg buff(witch u should always have on >.> ) so basically u dont loose any dmg u just dont have any penalty lets say its like war defiance + unchained if u have grit+darkside now turn grit off boom 20% more dmg >.> so basically in just grit bloodspiler+da will do 650(minus the 20% grit penalty) darkside bloodspiler+da will do 540 but u will do 20% more cuz of darkside. So short story Bloodspiler deals the same amount of dmg in grit and without it.

No. You have to take into account the 540 potency from Bloodspiller + DA without Grit doesn't factor the +20% damage from Darkside either. With or without DA, Bloodspiller does more damage without Grit.
