The same players who asked for the longer preseason probably stopped playing because there are no rewards. In the end, we still end up with the same small circle of players giving feedback. I started 4.2 a week late and it took a week before I was able to find any games, those games consisting of the same 10-12 players. Ultimately, it's on SE for not offering any incentive during the preseason, but they also shouldn't entertain the call for a longer preseason period if no one shows up to play during that time.
Ultimately it is on the player base for being indecisive in what they want. No preseason "Waaaah", preseason to short "Waaaah", preseason too long "Waaaah".
At least offer up a suggestion on how long the preseason will be instead of saying it is too short/too long. It's been what 2-3 weeks since 4.2 released?
Maybe if SE had some good turn around on implementing what we ask for, we might have a better grasp on what we really want. A longer pre-season I think is fine if it comes with some incentives to participate in it. Maybe mail us X amount of gil when the season starts if we did Y number of games in the preseason.Ultimately it is on the player base for being indecisive in what they want. The problem is they'll implement a bunch of changes in 4.25 en batch and then launch S7 with it, which really doesn't help because then we can't tell them if the changes still need more work.Maybe if SE had some good turn around on implementing what we ask for, we might have a better grasp on what we really want. I don't think it's indecision, so much as SE listening to people's bad ideas and implementing them because they happen to be the popular opinion at the time. I'm pretty sure OP didn't ask for a longer preseason and neither did I, for the record. I'm of the opinion that the reward system in general is lacking, regardless of how long or short the preseason is, putting SE at fault initially. The community would just make things worse by asking for a longer preseason, knowing well that there was no preseason incentive structure in the game.Ultimately it is on the player base for being indecisive in what they want. New Preseason Feedback:"GET RID OF THE DAMN BOTS! NOW THEY'RE IN FEAST TOO ASDFASGFASDAS!"
I mean, if SE had a decent track record of getting rid of cheaters, I could understand. But considering they don't, I can't help but wonder how often you guys need to get burned before you get wary of the idea of "incentives".
I never accused you or the OP of such a thing. I said SE and Player Base. Also it is indecision on the playerbase as the only people who are vocal are the ones complaining. SE can only listen to the ideas before them. So it is not their fault you and the OP didn't chime in or find a vast majority of people to chime in and overrule the people saying it needed to be longer. So thus yes the Playerbase is indecisive because they only speak up to complain. If we want to talk about Incentives then they need to revisit the entire reward structure for Feast. I was only interested in Season 4 for the mount because I was MIA during season 3. The rewards otherwise are lacklsuter for time investment vs other aspects of the game.
There are a lot of changes, including the reintroduction of an improved light party mode which may be the basis for actual team tournament play. I can see them wanting a longer pre-season to let teams practice and scrimmage together for the future, and considering the achievements for team play cap at like 300 wins, maybe expect it to be played a lot.
To be blunt, I think the problem is that for all the talk, players just don't like feast enough to play it.
