Balmung re-opened

Aaahhh, good deal I made the mistake of deleting an alt on Balmung years back - I'd like to at least have one on here.

Are there new patch notes posted somewhere that I'm missing? :X

If I didn't love my current FC so much I would be transferring. I will make an alt at 6am Tuesday though....

They really shouldn't reopen Balmung. Not unless they've massively improved the load these servers can bear. It'll also do serious damage to the roleplaying communities that've sprung up on other servers. It's a shame.

Maybe, though that's only an issue if fresh blood isn't actively embraced. If nothing else, Mateus losing the people who regretted moving from Balmung will do wonders for the atmosphere. It may even go back to being the 'quiet' server many of the original players wanted it to be.

Better they do this now than wait ages like they did with Gilgamesh, which actively hurt their community. The servers only ever struggle with any one mega server during expansions. Mateus has actually cultivated a decent sized RP community. I doubt they'll see a mass exodus, especially seeing many people like mid-pop servers.

I´m happy for the Balmung players to get fresh meat into thier community...but i doubt it will go smooth.

So i will sit on my beloved EU Server and watch the show with some popcorn.
I bet it will be closed again, but re-opend later to slow down the train of newcomers on the servers or they make it so a limited amount of characters (one per account?) can be created there within a certain timeframe, so slowing down the Hypetrain.
I would not want to see my server flooded by newcommers and causing a crash =/
