I hear people going on bringing in all their alts.

Like christ, that's why there was a problem to begin with. Just your main ought to be fine.

Why would alts be a problem? It's not like the database of characters is causing an issue. The problem is everyone being on at once, which you can't do with your alts.

I never understood why we couldn't create alts when we were already on the server with our main. It felt weird especially coming from other MMOs where they let you do that with no problem. Like no one can be on their alt at the same time as their main. It just doesn't happen unless there is some weird multi boxing exploit going on.

Actually alts are not the problem. It's a known fact that Balmung has the fewest numbers of created characters out of almost all the servers. The issue is more the fact that we have more unique accounts than any other server, since you can't really be one more than one character at a time after all. It's actually kind of stupid that we can't create a character on a server that we're already on.

So... apparently Balmung was only re-opened to character transfers, not new characters. Doesn't that just facilitate the original problem?

Is this confirmed, or is char creation blocked due to world traffic? The latter was similar to how it was before in that you technically had a chance to create an alt after every maint if you were fast enough.

Probably world traffic. But when is Balmung not high traffic. My point is.... it should be closed to transfers and open to new characters imo.

The world traffic blocking character creation like it is inconjunction with the transfer fee is throttling the number of players joing Balmung which is good.

All it takes is one alt for people, the total number of accounts with access to Balmung is huge.

I made a new character on there this morning after maintenance ended. Although new characters on servers get restricted if there are too many logged in on a server.
