4.5 would be my guess, the server only has problems at expansion launches so I could see them closing it again when it is getting closer the rest of the time its kind of unnecessaryI'm surprised the whole datacenter didn't crash.
After seeing all these posts on the forums I'd thought thousands of people would all transfer to Balmung once it would open.
Well, this forum/game is full of liars anyway.
How long would you guys give it before they will lock it again?
I realised I've become sort of...indifferent towards housing. I want a medium or a large plot, not a small. For now, an apartment will suffice for my needs. I just hope they upgrade the size of it as implied and allow for a courtyard or balcony for the use of outdoor furnishings.
Hopefully by the time 5.0 is upon us even busy servers such as Balmung will have the housing shortage addressed.
Mateus was my world of choice, quite by accident, but I was quite comfortable with the peace and solitude.
Admittedly, the drop in apparent bots have been one nice positive side effect.
Oh man, when they put in the hard kick, I couldn't believe how much it improved things. Server stability was way better, and queue times were reduced by HOURS. I had no idea until then just how much people afking online is a problem.
This is just horrible. Steps of Nald is just too much of a lag fest. Trying to walk through, even just to get to the Flames is like watching my char glitch to it. Why do RPers flock to that one certain spot? There are other Adventurer Guilds to hang out at and stop this horrendous lag.
I have to ask: Lag of FPS loss?
The latter can be helped by simply limiting the amount of characters rendered in the options. I personally haven't noticed any particular lag while running through Ul'dah.
It tested that by moving it down to minimum and still lags like crazy, and it's only Steps of Nald, everywhere else is fine.
