Easy fix for RMT spam!

Seeing a spike of more RMT popping up on shout chat, couldn't you just lock shout chat out till a certain part of the story say when Minfilia gives you the echo talk thing, this would make it harder for banned characters to just make a new one and spam chat more.

If anyone knows of other ideas to fix this RMT problems do let me know.

you literally can modify what you want to see on the chat logs.

Yes but I don't want to turn off shout chat altogether we need a somewhat solid fix for the RMT problem.

It's safe to assume some people actually want shout turned on for hunt calls and such without seeing RMT ads.

I think they should apply an automatic rule that if 20 people (for example) report an individual for rmt within a short time span, then that account be automatically locked until a dm can look at the log.

that can very easily be abused by a group of people that target someone for reasons other than RMT.

You can target anybody but the chat log will tell the dev/gm what the target shouted. If your being target but your chat doesnt have RMT then those that report your get a warning maybe?

You get punished if you abuse the report button. They'd easily be able to see from the log if that was the case and punish accordingly.
