FFXIV is very limiting in this respect, and somewhat hypocritical in that only certain "exclusives" remain so, seemingly so as to pander. For the rest, they eventually become easy revenue on Mog. I don't agree with that.
This is honestly why I can't agree that the 1.x exclusives (the ones obtained in-game, not the Legacy campaign items specifically) should remain exclusive for all time. To me, as a player that was not around during 1.0, it just feels like favoritism when a select group within this game are given exclusivity when others aren't. And it doesn't really make it feel fairer to explain that those people were playing a different game and that those items should only ever have been available in that game and not this one, because in that case why should characters in this game have the items, and why should that mean that they couldn't also be made available in this game? The only thing that did make it seem fair to me to know that these items were around and I couldn't have them was knowing that I, and everyone else, could get items from simply playing this game that would indefinitely remain exclusive in the future, and that as long as these events kept happening, everyone to come after me could be exclusive too, and we'd all be on equal ground as far as exclusivity is concerned. Now that that isn't the case, it just feels like favoritism.

As far as the pvp items are concerned, my thoughts are just wait it out for a couple years and they'll pop up on mogstation.
