Quality VS Quantity: Mounts.

I'm not going to pick either answer and say: Both.

Why can't we have both? lol. I mean we know we're getting Chocobo raising, outfitting and combat soon enough so the quality side of things is already in the plans. Why can't we have a number of mounts that we can also customize in the same ways? Why must we limit it to just customizable Chocobos or a bunch of other mounts? I mean it's not like the existence of mounts aside from Chocobos means that we won't get the customization end of the Chocobo content. They've already announced it anyway and Chocobos are the main focus no matter how you look at it.

Since we get to chose multiples, I'll chose Quality twice.

In 2.0, we'll need more Chocobo breeds, gear, packs, barding, and music options (please).

Magitek looks amazing, but I'd prefer if it was slightly slower and was the mount option for chocobo-restricted empire areas and/or cold weather zones. IIRC Chocobos aren't typically cold-weather creatures, so travel through any Beaucedine Glacier / Uleguerand Range type areas should require Magitek.

Magitek could have a fair amount of customization as well.

I personally don't think a balance of both can be made without doing it half arsed overall.

Just because he believes it can't be done doesn't mean he doesn't know it's coming. And who knows? Maybe the plans for chocobo would have been better if we didn't have all these special mounts, although I highly doubt it, especially considering the goobbue mount looked like it took a half hour to make lol.

I would like to grow my own pets, and customize their colour with maybe some variety in gear, not much.

I think you can have 2-5 different mounts, with 2 gear sets each. That would create a lot of diversity.

I think chocobos should be the main mount with in-depth breeding and barding systems. However I don't mind if we get a few vanity mounts sprinkled throughout the games life to keep things interesting.

i feel like with more you will just be swamped with people on different mounts. and it just makes it feel stupid. at least to me. chocobo are what the series are known for. so instead of making more ridable monsters make chocobo customizable. that would set FFXIV apart. putting in more mounts will just make it the same old same old. none of them will feel special

personally i wouldnt like to see too many mob mounts. if they added 1 with each expansion pack i think that would suffice. I much more prefer FF to stay true to chocobos.
