Countingsheep Community Day: The Flock is Happy to Help!



Hi there, adventurers of Fabul,

My name is Kaliska Rhele and I'm here to tell you about an event that my linkshell - Countingsheep - will be hosting. If you don't have a linkshell, or are part of a small social shell that doesn't complete content, we would like to offer the chance to clear some of the content that you might not normally be able to clear. We're here to help!

What are we willing to do?

We are willing to do anything! Can't get an Ifrit win? Want to trounce some Moogles? Still need to complete Darkhold? Still missing some roaming NMs? Need a hand getting some coffer keys? We'll even do some crafting for you if that's what you want. Now do please keep in mind this isn't about getting a drop as much as getting the win on content that you haven't managed to get yet - any drops you might get are an added bonus.

What's the catch?

No catch. All we want to do is to give a little back to the Fabul community and help out others who might need it! You don't need to give us anything.

So when will this happen?

We have set up a date; 4th Feb 2012 at 8PM GMT / 3EST. If you are chosen, you'll need to be available then. We'll contact you before hand to let you know exactly when we'll be coming to you, as some things will take longer than others, depending on what we are doing. But please bear in mind that you might not be first on the list, so it could be a couple of hours till we get to you, but we will get to you.

I want help! What do I do?

All you have to do is visit this thread on our website and post a little bit about yourself, including your character name, why we should help you and what content you would like our help to complete. We will let our members vote on who they would like to help and we will get in contact with you and arrange to get it done for you. Applications will close on the 27th Jan, our members will then vote on them and the winning applicants will be contacted by the 1st Feb.

So that's it. If you think you would like our help, then you really have nothing to lose by dropping by our site and posting!

So I really have nothing useful to contribute to this thread (aside from the bump <_<), I just wanted to go a step further than clicking the like button and compliment your LS on both the generosity/the apparent effort put into organizing this event.

You know what? I absolutely agree with you there. But, who's to say they don't help people every day? This event they're running allows them to help more people by organizing a method that optimizes throughput much better than just shouting "Hey, we'll help you with stuff!" which only reaches people in your area/might annoy some as spam. >_>

It shouldn't, but the 'culture' on Fabul is very siloed, for lack of a better word. Most folks stick with their LS, so this kind of thing is kind of necessary there.

More linkshells should do that on every server or even simply go hunting poor souls and spontaneously help them out.
