Plague doctor healer that's sort of a riff off chemist / alchemist.
Their weapon is an apothecary bag from which they grab and make an assortment of concoctions that heal, buff, and debuff.

Voidmage
DPS role but mostly functions as a defensive support.
Most attacks have 20% chance of dealing slow
Has a gauge that as it builds gives the whole party a defense buff, and when full can unleash a decent damage-nullifying barrier party-wide but resets the gauge.

Do you have the source for this info? I heard this too but can’t find source....
Anyway, I’d like to see a Gunbai war fan combined with chained scythe weapon a la madara from Naruto. Can be new tank class and opens up another shield user
It sort of depends on what role they want to try and fill. They don't really have any druid type jobs as the original class that was the closest to that was conjurer. A void mage would be another option that hasn't been explored yet that focuses on attacks like Nanoflare, Unholy Darkness, Ultima, Twister, Almagest, Energize, Parasite, Vengeance, Manaburn...
Case in point, some people just want to annihilate stuff, and I don't think Hydalyn has too much a problem with dark arts considering we got angry Dark Knights running around the hills.
Aren't Black mages suppose to be void mages? It sort of depends on what role they want to try and fill. They tend to combat voidsent whenever possible. Sorta seems counter productive to attack the very thing one draws power from, so I don't think they are void mages. They do love raw power, however. I could be wrong too, and would certainly welcome some clarification. Been a little while since I did the BLM quests.
New jobs? Well with the game's focus on having jobs being tied to a weapon set we'd probably start there.
Tanks
Warmaul (2h), Warhammer/Mace + shield, Pike + shield, 1H gunblade + shield
Heavy melee DPS (str based, shares most common armor with drg)
Dual wield either hatchets or 1h swords, 2H gunblade, Warmaul, Scythe,
Light melee DPS (could be str or dex based, dex base shares most common armor with NIN)
Tonfa, Nunchucks, Bo, Whip, Dual wield hatchets or 1h swords
Healer
Fans, talismans, mystical orbs, chemistry kit, magitek machinery
Ranged physical DPS
Slingshot, sling, throwing knives, boomerangs, cannons, crossbow, cards
Ranged magic DPS
Talismans, mystical orbs, enchanted dolls, magic mittens (cause we need glowing hands) >.>
Oh yeah, forgot about Sword Saints. Not sure if it would count as an original job per say, but getting to use skills like Judgment Blade, Cleansing Strike, Northswain's Strike, Hallowed Bolt, Divine Ruination, Crush Armor, Crush Helm, Crush Weapon, Crush Accessory, Duskblade, and Shadowblade would be cool. They'd basically be putting debuffs on bosses, such as dropping their melee damage (crush weapon), dropping defense (crush helm, crush armor), drop magic damage (crush accessory), and can use a combination of melee and magic, just instead it's more melee focused with the magic being the special part. Rdm works in reverse. XD
Hammer tank so that we finally have another blunt class besides Monk. Could even name it Berserker and add a lot of dot damage called "stun" damage or something where you have skills that add the stun dot (without actually stunning the enemy). Stun dot could also work to decrease the amount of damage the enemy does. But yes we really need a another blunt damage class and we know it wouldn't be a healer so the hammer tank makes the best sense.
Take a Geomancer, add a hammer, and give it some beast master things. I have no idea what it would be called, but it sounds awsome. Tactics skills: Sinkhole, Torrent, Tanglevine, Contortion, Tremor, Wind Slash, Will-o'-the-Wisp, Quicksand, Sandstorm, Snowstorm, Wind Blast, Magma Surge.Hammer tank so that we finally have another blunt class besides Monk.
