Cannot see more sellers for an item on MB after 100 listings of an item.

I tried to post this on the bug report forum.. and it got listed as "Not a bug"... since this below can actually deny sellers from being seen on the MB... I still say it is something the devs need to fix with a simple "Next page" button.. Please chime in.

Issue is take 1 item, Palladium Nugget. If someone uses their retainers to make 100 listings of that item. The game no longer displays anything after 100 listings of an item. We do not have the ability to hit "Next Page" to see more listings for that item.

How to reproduce the issue.
Look for an item that has a lot of sellers.
Now list an item 100 times. (So 100 seperate listings for that one item) say list them all for 1 gil (Example). Then go check the market board. You will ONLY see your listings for the 1gil. You will not see any other sellers. This effectively corners the market board and prevents any other sellers from being seen for that item thus denying their right to sell.

Undercut them and yours will make the list. If they're selling for 1 gil or less than what you consider a fair price, buy them up and relist. Profit.

It's indeed a potential issue. Especially when you want to purchase HQ items but if there is too many NQ items listed, HQ (the most expensive) will be hidden from view.

Technically it could happen even without someone trying to exploit the issue, just with too many NQ sellers.

As for a single individual doing it on purpose, I guess SE could implement a limitation on how many times you can list the same item on MB within a retainer.

And about adding a "next page" button, looking at how slow the MB is refreshing when you try to view different items, I would not be surprised to learn there is a technical limitation on FFXIV architecture which would prevent retreiving too many items listing from server to client.

On a personal practical note, I've never encountered the issue on MB. So I guess k it's not a widespread, recurrent or important issue so far.

Also if someone tries to troll the MB by doing so, that means all his items must be the cheapest, which incendentaly will cause the issue to resolve itself with people buying it quickly. And you can always simply undercut him unless you're trying to sell HQ items (The HQ case being a legitimate reason to be annoyed, should it happen).

I mean, if someone is willing to devote 5 whole retainers(secondary characters? alt accounts? adding 3+ retainers to your monthly bill?) in an attempt to control the market on a single item... when they can still be undercut at any time making the effort largely pointless... then more power to you you crazy SOB. I will not be buying from you - ill get the item some other way on principal(no one but me controls the choices i make) - but more power to you.

Absurd hypothetical situations aside, the obvious solution here is to buy them up yourself and resell. (This is why you won't ever actually see anyone doing this unless 1, the item is already worthless, and 2, someone is extremely bored.)

Buy up all items and sell them to NPC for much more than 1 gil. Problem solved.

Don't be so sure of that. If the first 100 listings all sell stacks of 99 items for 1000 gil each (99000 gil for a stack) and I sell a stack of 10 items for 1050 gil each (10500 gil for a stack), then I can guarantee that some people would prefer to buy the smaller stack even if it is more expensive per item.
There is also the taxes to consider, which can make the top listings more expensive than lower listings.

If anyone is ever actually concerned with the tax on a high value purchase, they will teleport to that retainer's nation before making the purchase. This is another moot point.
