Before I start I just want it to be known that, while I don't see the roaming primals content ever being added to the game, the Ixion fate did kind of give me an idea of how they could be added if the dev team ever did add them.
So with the Ixion fate, when active, the weather becomes Quicklevin and Ixion appears somewhere on the map in the Lochs. However players are unable to interact with Ixion unless someone has some Stygian Ash. Only then if a player(s) has the item can the shield surrounding Ixion be dropped and players can begin interacting with him.
After seeing this, I thought to myself, why couldn't this work with roaming primals? I mean, we're far past a point in XIV where they could manifest into the world and FATEs seem to be the go to content for the dev team for stuff like this. Aside from hunts of course. So how could it be executed one may ask? Why, it's simple, or at least it seems anyway.
1) Players log in to the game one day and all of a sudden, the sky and weather in the area is weird and there's a system message asking for any able bodied FC's to report to their respective Grand Company posts or to a specified area.
2) Any and all FC's with a rank of 6 or higher are allowed to accept a FC specific quest to face off against a primal that has been sighted rampaging throughout a specified region. Once the quest has been accepted by either a FC leader or someone in a leadership capacity, an item becomes available at the the OIC Quartermaster to allow participating FC's the chance to interact with said primal.
3) So now your FC has accepted the quest and gotten the item needed to interact with the primal, it's time to face off against that primal. The battlefield would act just like that of the Ixion, Odin, and Behemoth FATEs. Players/FC's have until the timer is up to defeat the Roaming Rampaging Primal. If successful, any and all FC's that were active in the FATE gain access to a summoning FC action, able to be used in content such as Diadem (assuming it ever becomes relevant again), S Rank Hunts and other content. FC leaders would have control over who and how the primal would be used.
Should the participating players/FC fail to defeat said Primal by the time the timer is up, it's a instant wipe and the Primal will either continue to rampage until someone defeats it or despawn until the next spawn time.
4) So you thought it would be that easy to deal with a powered up beyond extreme Primal and it's mechanics? Nope!! Aside from having to deal with it's mechanics that most of us veteran players should be use to by now, Players would also have to fend off the primal's servants, beast tribe warriors and tempered slaves alike. This would require multiple FC's to work together for a common goal instead of just zerging down the primal.
