    Sound and frame stutter.

    Been happening a lot recently.

On Byakko EX during the falling phase when the second set of orbs come up the game mildly freezes and audio stutters.

On O7 Normal once during the missile phase the game froze.

    Steam version.

Tried reinstalling drivers, game, you name it. Getting a bit irritated with the issues in the game now and I've had to switch to PS4 because it's getting ridiculous.

Hello Trekkie22, Thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums

Do you have any background applications or overlays? These can sometimes interfere with the game. I assume you are using DirectX 11. Have you tried reverting to DirectX 9?

    Hope to be of assistance.

DX9 is worse performing so I'd rather not use it. In areas where I got 60 I get 40 or so FPS. Especially when I'm on a computer that can support DX11 on other games just fine. And if I recall during fanfest or a live letter the devs were asking people to use the dx11 client/64 bit OS which leads me to believe that down the line support for said client is being dropped.

As for the DX9 client it has it's own set of issues such as tabbing in/out freezing the game for a split second. I just don't understand why the supposedly better client is performing in a worse manner.

Are you sure these issues are not your end because I asked about on other sites and other people were reporting performance issues in Byakko EX. I've done everything from reinstall the game to using motherboard specific drivers and the stutter still remains.

I did disable any overlay applications and the same issue occurred.

I will be moving this thread to bug reports. Hope we can be of assistance.
