I always figured SE never meant for housing to be something every player got., but more of an achievement. Don’t thInk making it private was a mistake. If an individual could afford it at the old prices I see no reason why they shouldn’t be allowed to buy a house.

If you’re a heavy crafter like me you have nothing to spend Gil on because you can make pretty much anything you need. If I was unable to buy a house, or didn’t have a goal of owning a mansion it would have taken away from my expierince so far. Last Tuesday I was dancing in my yard when I got my large because I had accomplished a big goal I set for myself.

Quite the contrary in fact.
People are mad because they wanted a house but since there were no plot available due to sad circumstances then they announced new house/plots/wards for 4.2 and people were happy because at long last they could get a house.
But a week before 4.2 was released they said "Nope sorry only leftover for you, if there is any that is."

I don’t agree with this type of comment. I’m pretty sure most peopls who relocated, or have larger homes started out in cottages, and probably not their ideal location. I bought the first house I saw because I just wanted to have a home and was happy I got one. Then I bidded my time until something else opened up.

So when I see comments like leftovers, or just general crapping on cottages in general it just rubs me the wrong way. Do you want a house or not? Plenty of people didn’t get their dream home on their first house, this is not something new.

oh NOOOOOO way! Then delete all the decoration items, all the garden decoration items etc from the game, it's an enjoyable thing to do for people, and if they are FC only then you cannot argue that you need them to look pretty if all they serve is that function.

I'm looking forwards to seeing how much more they can make a disaster from this crisis again though! How many more subscribers can they insult!

I will add more to my last comment since I post a bit in a hurry.

So while some people might not have started with the plot they wanted, they weren't left to wait until whoever knows to get a house.
There is a big difference between not getting the plot you want because someone was faster and not getting the plot you want because you are not allowed to buy it while some other are free to.
So yes, wheter you like it or not when the restriction will be lifted the only plots available will most likely be the ones noone wants hence the word "leftover".
Also I'm saying why people are angry and this is why not because houses are cheap or there is a lack of gil sink.
As for the gil sink if there is anybody mad over having too many gil feel free to send me gils.

I don't agree that personal housing is a problem. When they were FC only, people just made solo FCs and bought a house anyway. I have a friend that still has his solo FC house. In addition to his main FC's house, and a personal cottage he just bought. If anything, not having personal housing contributed to the problem in the long run. There's lots of people leftover from the old days that have multiple houses because of it.

However, I'm 100% in agreement that a cut in cost caused this. Housing should not be so easy to attain. When demand eclipses supply, lower prices are never the answer.

I remember when picking out a house was so leisurely. People actually waited for land to devalue, and had time to debate between available plots. I feel bad for people that lost their prime choices and just rushed for the first house they could get to. They never really got that shopping and debating experience, which I rather enjoyed.

Well, everyone in the FC gets the house only rank 3 FC actions, and access to Private Chambers in it at least. So you can't say they get nothing outta it.

Spot on! Been in numerous FCs, all the same with benefits to leader and butt buddies. My FC now is shared with a friend, my hubby and a couple others and we actually share and have access to everything. FC buffs are almost useless for members and few ever wanted to pay 300k for access to a room they could lose at a leaders or officer's whim.
