Question about the starter game purchase

Okay so my sister wants to buy the starter version of this game for $20 but the only thing we see is the PC Download where it mails you a physical copy of the game. All we're wanting is the digital version so she can start playing soon rather than later. Do you get a code emailed to you with the PC Download version?

Yes, if you buy the steam version, you will need to buy all the future expansions etc. on that.

The easiest way is to just download it from the SE store (NA one: https://store.na.square-enix.com). I recommend the complete digital edition, will probably come much cheaper.

If she already has a trial account, she should be able to just login to that account and buy the upgrade to the full game on the mog station. You can buy a license from there for your chosen platform, AFAIK. That would put it on the account immediately and she'd be good to go.

Whoa, I just bought the complete edition for €26,95 1,5 months ago (PS4 version though)!

Maybe go starter for now then and buy the full version or expansions from the next sale if she likes it.

Yeah, that is what we first tried to do but it says it was unable to do it and said to go to the SE store. I recently bought this game for my nephew and didn't have any trouble till now. It's kinda getting on my nerves :\.
