Please remove main scenario dungeon restriction when doing it undersized

Regardless of what they do with the MSQ roulette or people who queue, I don't see any reason to force people to watch 20-30 mins of cutscenes unsynced, the whole point of undersized parties is to choose how we want to play, doing this with newbies who are not interested in watching cutscenes makes it more painful for no reason.

Or better yet, make those dungeons solo duties and fix all problems at once.

As I’ve said somewhere in the other very long discussion, I suspect it may not be possible for them to give us a choice, even if they want to - the change has affected all ways of seeing the scenes, even rewatching them in the inn.

So I think it’s possible that only one version of the scene can exist in the system, and that is now unskippable and auto-scrolling - and it’s not possible to add whatever additional underlying programming would be required to support two versions of the scene and display the appropriate version on an instance-by-instance basis.

That content is for new players. You will only see it in ARR MSQ content. You only need to run it once and never have to run it again for that character. Its fair and logical to have it as is. I dont know how many times I've seen new players get frustrated because the group moved so far ahead that the new player cannot get back to the group or they are forced to skip the content. That is not fair at all for the new players and it needs to stay the way it is so the new player can enjoy the story.

This MSQ content is not for players that already completed it. You do not have to queue up for it. I queue up for it so new players can complete the content + I enjoy the cut-scenes. So stop complaining about it... I agree with the devs decision to keep it the way it is now.

Learn to have some patience and empathy.

@Astral145 -- If the new player wants to be taken through unsynced by a friend or two, they're more than welcome to watch the cutscenes. I'm sure their friends would let them, too. But there's zero reason to be unable to skip them if you are doing the content unsynced/with an undersized party. It's just an arbitrary restriction. The devs can keep the restriction if the content is being done synced, but I personally see no need for it in unsynced.

I'm all for this. I also think if there's no new player in a group, the cutscenes should be skippable.

Its not an arbitrary restriction when a new player gets left behind and can't experience the content as the devs intended it. This content is for new players not for players that already completed it. This style of MSQ content is only in ARR so have some patience and empathy for new players.

It wouldn't be difficult to create a script that will check to see if there is no new players in the group, but it would be difficult to change the application to allow us to skip the cut scenes based on the rules. They would have to change how the application works, which would require more time and resources than what its worth.

In unsynced, it does become arbitrary. Friends that take their sprout friends through the MSQ dungeons generally let them enjoy the cutscenes. But why should the people who are not a sprout have to sit through them as well?

Keep in mind that there are also newbies that aren’t interested in watching the cutscenes.

Friends or FCs will sometimes take sprouts through the content unsynced so they don’t have to sit in a queue, or so the sprout could watch the cutscenes back before the roulette changes.

That is factually incorrect. You are most likely correct about the system's current situation and why they haven't implemented it with a choice currently, but absolutely nothing in this game is set in stone. The reason they haven't done anything more sophisticated (or at the very least, user friendly...) is likely because it would require a systematic change. They saw the need to address the issue but somewhere along the chain of decision makers someone put their foot down and said it wasn't important enough to invest that much time in it.
It's possible to give us a choice, just like how it's possible to make those two dungeons into solo instances. But for reasons that are beyond us, and likely many of us will disagree with, they chose not to.
