You are assuming all new players want to watch the CS, not everyone does. You shouldn't be forcing something on all players, it was a bad change. I am shocked people white knight the change. Its not an arbitrary restriction when a new player gets left behind and can't experience the content as the devs intended it. This content is for new players not for players that already completed it. This style of MSQ content is only in ARR so have some patience and empathy for new players.
It wouldn't be difficult to create a script that will check to see if there is no new players in the group, but it would be difficult to change the application to allow us to skip the cut scenes based on the rules. They would have to change how the application works, which would require more time and resources than what its worth.
People have a right to options and a choice.
I was thinking more if they implemented it in such a way that the Auto-Skip Enabled was only able to be used if a party initially zoned into an instance with no bonus, then that could avoid that issue. It would set up the party as “Auto-Skip Disabled”/“Auto-Skip Enabled” the minute everyone zoned in, and then just persist until the instance closed.
Astral145 explained something similar to what I was thinking:
Create a script that checks: New Player? Yes/No, and then determine the cutscene setup to be used for the entirety of the instance (Auto-Skip Enabled/Disabled). Even if the new player was kicked from the duty, they would still have to watch the cutscenes, or just leave and continue to requeue until there was no bonus. I don’t think many would want to do that repeatedly, but who knows. It wouldn't be difficult to create a script that will check to see if there is no new players in the group, but it would be difficult to change the application to allow us to skip the cut scenes based on the rules. They would have to change how the application works, which would require more time and resources than what its worth.
Worth would have to be determined at a future time, of course. But I feel like there must be something SE knows that we don’t, what with them already upping the rewards the roulette is going to give players only two weeks later.

I have alts I'm leveling, albeit it slowly. Normally, I'd poke a friend to just blitz me through some of the more annoying dungeons. Now we're both forced to watch cut scenes neither of us care to see again whenever I reach these two dungeons. While not a big deal, it's still annoying.
That's not what I asked. My question was why would you have a reason to do this dungeon unsynced with people who have already done it. If your alt hasn't completed it, you'd have a reason to do it unsynced with someone. What reason would people have to do this dungeon unsynced with characters who have already completed it?I have alts I'm leveling, albeit it slowly. But I see now that entire reason I asked the question was because I misunderstood Hyomin's original statement.
My apologies >.>@Astral145 -- If the new player wants to be taken through unsynced by a friend or two, they're more than welcome to watch the cutscenes. I'm sure their friends would let them, too. But there's zero reason to be unable to skip them if you are doing the content unsynced/with an undersized party. It's just an arbitrary restriction. The devs can keep the restriction if the content is being done synced, but I personally see no need for it in unsynced.
I'm all for this. I also think if there's no new player in a group, the cutscenes should be skippable.

Oh, I’m sorry if I was unclear. I was posting from my phone, and mobile version is so annoying I try not to be too lengthy in my posts. That's not what I asked. Those dungeons are for whoever has to do them again. This MSQ content is not for players that already completed it. You do not have to queue up for it. I queue up for it so new players can complete the content + I enjoy the cut-scenes. So stop complaining about it... I agree with the devs decision to keep it the way it is now.
Learn to have some patience and empathy.
I do not have to run it once, I have alts, I don't care about it being forced on players in the roulettes, but when I'm leveling new characters and trying to do other parts of the story again, I should not be forced to do it in this archaic way. You can't preach about empathy when you are refusing to understand that this effects other peoples styles of play that differ from your own.
Allowing the CS to be skipped if we go in unsynced does not effect the Main Scenario roulette.
Apologies! Misread your post. I suppose that's why they didn't bother with the unsync option. Not enough people to bother. That's not what I asked. When I ran castrum for the first time I was kicked from around 10 groups for watching the CS. People are impatient and rude even after stating if you are new and want to watch the CS. Having to watch the CS by force is SE saying “stop being aholes”.
Two wrongs don't make a right. No one's saying the way things were was fine, but this is stupid. And two weeks in, SE is already upping the awards, so that should tell everyone everything there is to know.
