Your suggestions for an Aether Server

Hey there. I have been looking for while now into alternatives to Gilgamesh, but some of it the suggestions are really outdated - from like a year back.

Why do I want to leave Gilgamesh? Well, it's a very particular crowd. Not a friendly community, and very elitist (I don't have a problem with that, I am raiding high-end myself) but it brings problems with it in terms of atmosphere and FCs.

I have heard biased opinions about Sargatanas. That it's calmer and nicer, but then the other person said it's almost like Gilgamesh.

I kind of need to decide soon for a server, since I want to buy a house again or rip my interior from the EU server.

I am not interested in servers like Faerie. More midsize to large and more raiding focused.

Any input would be highly appreciated and paid with Blowkisses xx

I have no basis for comparison, but Sarg is pretty nice. Most people I meet in the field are willing to help out or just chat if you really want to. We have a pretty decent raiding population, I pretty regularly see non-cross server PF for statics/farms go up and get filled. There's quite a few active FC's and currently there are a few small plots open in all wards if you're looking for housing (who knows how next tuesday will go though). I don't know if it's raiding FOCUSED. Most of the population seems to be veteran gamers from 1.0 since it used to be a "legacy" server. Hey Krotoan! Sargatanas is pretty high priority on my list. Most of the nicest raiders I met are from Sargatanas. I remember someone helping me out really late in the 4.0 patch to clear o4s since I didn't have a static, he was UCOB cleared and even took screenshots with us after we made it.
That experience is very memorable, and I never met anyone on Gilgamesh who would do the same or has a mentality like that.

How are the MB prices for Grade 2 Infusions etc?

Looks like Grade 2 is around 5-7k , HQ double that.

There are no raiding servers anymore since cross world PF became a thing. That's why Gilgamesh basically died.

Yeah true, but like Zsolen said: Socializing on Gilgamesh is quite difficult. While it's not the most important thing for me at all since friends and raiding are x-servers, you still get a particular 'atmosphere' on a server and Gilgamesh has a very strange community. There is a lot of saltiness, random unfriendliness, and it's hard to find raiding focused FCs which are not just there for the name but actual have some sort of helping network. It's not just bad of course, there are good eggs too and it has some nice stuff going on. But overall, it's not where I can feel 'at home'.

I think Balmung is gonna be open soon? No idea what that place is really like though. In my mind it's like housing wards full of Restaurants and Brothels lol. :3

You could try a preferred world like Goblin... I'm trying not to be biased, ha! But seriously it's one of the worlds were you actually stand a chance at getting a home if that's something you are looking for. The population is quite nice not too small and not too big, most people are friendly and having cross-world PF means it's not too difficult to find other players to do things with, whether it be farming, raiding, or just doing your dailies. I suppose it just depends how much stuff you want to do that isn't cross-world.

I'm not raiding-focused myself, but I have to throw in a rec for Sargatanas too. Raiding-wise, it does seem to have a good community, and the community in general strikes me as friendly. I suppose that, like anywhere else, it will depend on the groups you end up joining and how they are in regards to gameplay, focus, treatment of members etc. but I can say that my fc/ls certainly feels like home.
