    Logitech keyboard backlight issues

Please quit closing these threads without giving us an actual in-game fix. I like having the aggro strobe effect, but having the LEDs off the rest of the time defeats the purpose that I bought a lighted keyboard for. If I turn off the FFXIV applet for my keyboard I get back the backlighting but I lose the cool in-game lighting efffects. Please give us an in-game control setting on whether or not to default the LEDs to off.

Good afternoon and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

Can you elaborate on the issue you are having? What kind of keyboard do you have? When you play Final Fantasy XIV, you can't use the LED effects? Is this correct?

We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!

I have a Logitech g510s keyboard and the issue is that the in-game applet for LED keyboards completely shuts off the key backlights unless certain things are happening in game. I like those effects but the only way to keep my keys backlit is to completely disable the in-game applet through the logitech gaming software and lose those cool effects.

    Thank you for the update.

Can you clarify what you mean by the 'in-game applet?' I'm assuming that it's what lets you control the back lights? It won't let you have a static backlight and a dynamic one?

We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!

Correct. Stormblood gave the FFXIV control of the backlights of most of the popular brands of keyboards so that they could make the lights do certain things in certain conditions, such as strobe red when you acquire aggro from a mob, but as a default, this turns the key backlights off completely until these conditions are met. There is no ingame menu to adjust these settings and the ffxiv applet in my Logitech Gaming Center software gives me no options to control the lights from that end. So far, the only fix I can find on any forum or through Google search is to completely deactivate FFXIV's ability to control the keyboard lights, which I do not want to do. I like the effects but I dislike that they come at the cost of keeping my keys lit when I play in the dark.
