we need solo play

I'm noticing that everyone has EVERYTHING 50 but me, and it's because i couldn't play for awhile because college and now i'm stuck sitting for 3hrs shouting for a party and really this is unacceptable. players need a way they can solo for decent XP, and no not leves because they give shit XP. if anyone has good solo advice i'd love to hear it

With respect, leves give decent EXP for being solo. If you're asking for a solo option where you get EXP equal to what a party would get, then I would have to say "no" to the whole idea.

You need to find a linkshell or a group of friends to level with you. The assumption that everyone has every DoW or DoM class at 50 is completely false.

The problem actually is the XP variation. R40 leves and behest can actually reward acceptable XP solo...but in special at camp 1, 10 and 20 the xp from both leves and behest is very weak.

I say for a week we reverse the tables so the higher level you are the weaker you are. Or charge players an amount based on their level each month...

i'm just saying that shouting for hours on end isn't acceptable and the only time i manage to level is when my linkshell members decide to power level me, and that's for a price, it's kind of stupid that levels 1-40 suck ass, but once your 40 you can hit 50 within a few hours. in ffxi the xp and party system was more balanced, until everyone hit 75. that's the problem here now, everyone has everything 50, so parties have become rare, especially if there's no mages. again if people want xp it's turned into PL parties, you need a rank 50 and everyone has to PL for 5-10 pulls. fortunately enough i have 2 50's but people new to the game don't and that's very unfortunate for them that they need to struggle like we did way back when this game released.

Yeah, but currently if you shout for 2 hours to get a party and party for 1 hour you'll get twice as much exp then you would get from doing those leves for 3 hours, not to mention it would be a lot more fun since you could just watch tv or something while waiting for a party.

While I agree party lvling should be faster than solo lvling, there is too much difference in speed currently. The amount of exp needed for 1-40 is about the same as the amount for 40-50, yet playing for approximately 8+ hours a day for 2 weeks i got my lnc to lvl 42 solo, and then i got into a stronghold party and got to lvl 50 in 5 hours, that is ridiculous.

Why not craft while waiting for party in town? Crafting and gathering classes are solo.

I is *confused*

I find this game to be very solo friendly. I've reached level 36 (my highest) by mostly exp'ing through leves and killing random mobs I happen upon that I find to be interesting -- whether in appearance or humorous name. I've been sort of shy about shouting to join a party as I feel my knowledge of the game, play style and DoW class are probably lacking compared to the many long time players. Perhaps one day I'll be brave enough to answer a /shout for my desired level and class, but until then I'll hack my way through vile gnats and marmots waiting to lose my LFP cherry.

Reading forums is both a blessing and curse: gaining useful knowledge of mob levels or requirements for grand company quests obviously a bonus but having to constantly read whining about the downfalls or shortcomings of the game weighs heavily. I'm not sure how people who want the population of the game and the overall environment to improve expect such things when they scare away potential new players with their criticisms. This game does not have to be played in large numbers (so far) and if you choose to sit idly wasting time shouting in a city to join a group instead of venturing out beyond the comforts of the walls to test your abilities, gear, weapons and dare I say skill on mobs that will not only garner exp but potentially fun and excitement then why bother taking the role of adventurer at all??
