Chocobo Saddlebags Do Not Open

Greetings all,

Character level 34, MSQ level 21. I have my chocobo, but the saddlebags will not open, and the icon for it (placed on a hotbar) is dark. Neither the icon nor the hotkey work. All I get is "The command is unavailable at this time."

I've tried logging out and back in, tried in different areas, tried talking to the NPCs at the Twin Adders (to see if that might stimulate something I forgot), but all to no avail.

Not sure what's going on.

(Forgot to say that using the hotkey doesn't even give me a message; nothing happens at all.)

Since the patch notes state: "Unlocking the companion feature also grants access to the chocobo saddlebag." I'd imagine that you'd have to do the quest that allows the chocobo to fight besides you. It's a quest starting in Camp Tranquil (South Shroud), named "My Feisty Little Chocobo".
