    Eureka might be what us old FFXI guys want - don't mess it up

    You get a penalty for death and it sounds like Dynamis. If it is at all like FFXI in that respect, please let those of us who want a bit of that style of FF again have it without complaining so much about it they dumb it down or never do it again.

    As people keep saying "there's a ton of content for a variety of players" - so let us have this.

    I'm with you, find your endgame. I don't do savage but I dont come and complain about it. Keep the different content coming.

    If that style doesn't appeal to players, they won't do it. SE will see this and will adjust it to make it more appealing. Don't blame the players for not participating in content they don't enjoy. I'm from EQ. Deleveling wasn't really fun then, but we did it because it was all we knew. EQ started a lot of trends in games of that time that I'm quite happy not to see a repeat of.

    That's not what he's saying. If that happens, it happens. What he's asking is for people not to come in and cry out for nerfs like they pretty much do with all new content and not to ask for changes that turn it into completely different content altogether, like what happened with Diadem 2.

    I think what you meant was "if enough players are vocal enough they'll change it" - and enough can be quite a small amount not at all representative of the player base but a damn bit louder than those who are happy.

    As someone else said: de-levelling at least makes players have a modicum of care and attention, this game could do with something that pushes people a bit harder - in that tiny little bit of extra content aside from the rest of the game.

    "Don't blame the players for not participating in content they don't enjoy." - I'm not, I actually go find something else and leave this for us. The whole point of this thread was "just don't do it and don't go demanding change, let some of us have this as to date we have not."

    Pretty sure they said relics were going to be tied into this, so I would expect people who don't enjoy this type of system to be upset and call for changes. This isn't a matter of "leave this for us" when it affects that large a portion of the playerbase.

    And what about Savage? A large portion of the player base don't like that and that's how you get the best gear: they don't just remove Savage do they?
    A large portion of the player base don't like dungeons and choose to craft, they don't just remove dungeons or give out exp just for logging in, do they?

    Just like savage gear, no one needs a relic. If you don't raid then crafted items or dungeon drops are most than suitable. If you raid then you get raid weapons. If you don't want to raid but would like a nice weapon, you have Eureka.

    Your argument is flawed because it can be used for any section of the game others don't like. Your argument is also flawed as it presents entitlement to which I say: well why can't we all craft the hardest stuff in the gear easily? Why must I spend millions or level all crafts to have a chance at HQ? We all deserve something to enjoy.

    It affects exactly as many people as want to be affected. Just like changing Savage, just like changing crafting, just like changing 24 man raids. The difference is, to date, there is 0 content for the FFXI lovers in this game. So let us have something!

    Relics were intended to be the casual path to gaining a decent weapon. It also encouraged people to go back and experience older content and breathed new life into those areas for a time. This does neither of those things.
