While on my Chocobo's back, I find him taking flight and what we find is odd... To see the images and notes from the journey use the magic text below to see.

Wouldn't this get you banned?
I'm allergic to effort.
This sort of thing is tolerated. it's not exactly hurting anyone.
Also, the open desert landscape, as lazy as you could call it as a map design, would still make a totally awesome map.

Make it happen.
If there was some sort of advantage to roaming the areas that should be inaccessible, possibly. But if I'm not mistaken, Katt normally (or at least used to?) GM call these, so she's really just QAing the game for them, and giving us neat pictures.![]()
Well, that's cool then. I know that in other MMOs, this sort of stuff is stamped out pretty quickly (RIP WoW wallwalking ><), so I wasn't sure if she was gonna be in for a banhammer or not. Regardless, the area looks kinda neat. Makes me think of Altepa Desert. Which makes me thinks of Anticans.
...On second thought, let us never go to this blighted desert. Ever.

In a perverse way, I actually miss Valkurm Dunes. Even though it was HORRIBLE, it was a nice "sandbox" (no pun intended) for new people to learn to party. Even if people did die in that process. A lot of people. It kind of nice having that zone where you knew everyone was a n00b and could expect to die, as opposed to wondering if that guy you just invited to your party soloed the entire way. :P If that desert turns into the Dunes, I'm going to shoot myself in the foot.
I would agree, with that NefarioCall but I think the DEVs just did it like that since there thought was "Realy why put the time into making it look great, when no one is going to see it"
As Mychael said Ashthra, I do let the GMs know where I've been when this happends. My GM calls take a little bit more time to think of since I still do them in charter ^_^
I've never found anything past map area when this happends (IE. Monsters, NPCs, items....)
And yes, I'm still in the area on Ren's back thinking on what my GM call should be.
The Dunes, summarized:In a perverse way, I actually miss Valkurm Dunes. Even though it was HORRIBLE, it was a nice "sandbox" (no pun intended) for new people to learn to party. (Lolcats): <call18> Valkurm Emperor <Found it!>
(Lolcats): <Fishing> Valkurm Emperor <Follow me.>
/pcmd leave
Lolcats >> wtf
Lolcats >> whyd you leave
<< Lolcats: I'd zone, if I were you.
Lolcats >> why?
Lolcats >> OMFG
Lolcats >> can u call for a <Raise>?
That actually happened to me while healing through the Dunes. Twice.

If she's purposefully circumventing the barriers (which there's a well known way to) yeah if SE felt like it lol. I end up falling out of the map and explore sometimes too but there's really nothing "hidden" in the sense that most people bypassed barriers to try to explore ishgard which was heavily unfinished.
Also:
The desert spot reminds me heavily of Altepa, especially post Abyssea Days.
Here is a copy of what I typed to the GMs this time around ^_^
------------------
Greetings!
I request the help of the World Care Takers, known as the GMs.
As I was traveling on my Chocobo’s back, he all of the sudden took flight! With this new found flight he and I went back to a land that I had seen from a cliff side not that long ago.
Ren and I found this time strange land, sand, and even a hole in the mountain side! I've added the magic text that will let you read more of my travels today with images I took at the end of this message.
But alas, the path Ren and I took to get here is no longer available to us. With all the flying Ren has done today, he no longer has the strength to fly over the mountains to get us back to the city of Ul’dah. Nor is my magic of teleportation working in this regain.
If someone from the great guild of the GMs could please come assist us, we would both be grateful.
-Katt
