    Ps4 - Having big lags in game

    Hi, i logged back in a couple of weeks ago to prepare for patch 4.2. Ever since im having lag issue's with the game. My character is on server Odin (EU). I play on the PS4 and that is connected to my router with a cable. I also tried connecting to my modem with the cable but same issue. Played other games on the ps4 online and have no problems. Contacted the ISP and no issue's on their end.

    I cant hardly do dungeons, doing savage is barely playable, cant do crafting they get interrupted due lags. My friends are saying also they see my character icon go online and dc most of the time. I have to press 2 or 3 times the same button to use my next move and dodging AOE is just awful.

    I played this game since 2.0 and never had issue's with lag in the game. Ever since patch 4.15 it seems like the server is unstable.

    I can hardly play the game and my sub is still ongoing. Please help me solve this?

    yeah mate welcome to the club!

    Same f***ing issue on Shiva. I cant play the game at all as after about a minute it will disconnect. ive just spent the last 40 minutes re-logging into the game and I don't even manage to change gear or queue for DF that's how bad it is. And I'm on PC.

    I already made a post in another thread about all of this but I feel like maybe this is worth mentioning? I found no pattern of the issue when I had it, it was pretty consistent in all areas except for duties where it got a lot worse. Didn't matter what time of day it was.

    The interesting bit is that I don't have the problem anymore. I remember one day, two days ago I believe, it was being really awful as usual but I logged out and came back an hour later and it worked fine since then. I did nothing in that hour but it resolved itself. I don't know what this issue is but it should really be fixed soon. There is no way of telling whether or not these issues could flare up again.

    Hi there,

    since I am having similar issues, I'll answer these questions from my perspective.
    The lags started last saturday, 3rd February, but only occurred in Savage content and Byakko Extreme.
    Pattern: There is no real pattern - the screen freezes randomly for some seconds - sometimes up to 15 - and when you "get back" to the game, everything what should've happened in the lagtime happens at once.
    It occurs at any time throughout the day.
    I know it sounds like some package loss, but as i checked this I had none.

    Same issues on Shiva since the emergency maintenance, i had a huge lag at 3% on O7s. Thanks SE

    Hello,

    I would like to suggest some troubleshooting steps that tend to assist with these type of issues. Please try all of the steps if the problem persists try to contact your ISP and report these issues to them.


    The issue you are describing is most associated with interference with the game data. Most of the time, it results from certain security/privacy changes on PSN web browser. Please make sure that "Cookies" and "JavaScript" are ENABLED on the PSN Browser. This can be done by going to the web browser on the PS4, press the options button, then go to settings. The options for Cookies and Javascript will most likely be checked, uncheck them and then recheck them.

    The fault may also lie with the "Date & Time" settings on your PlayStation 4. We would advise to please follow the provided steps to adjust your console's clock to assure it is accurate and up-to-date:
    Close the FINAL FANTASY XIV game/application.
    Go to [SETTINGS] on your PS4.
    Select [Date and Time], and "Set via Internet". (Please do not manually set the date and time.)
    Once, the date and time settings have been updated, please restart your PlayStation 4 console.
    Once your console has fully restarted, please start the FINAL FANTASY XIV game/application.
    Please make sure all other internet-enabled devices (including smartphones, laptop/desktop PCs, tablets, etc.) have been disabled and/or turned OFF to minimize game interference.

    If the suggestions provided above do not resolve the issue, then there is a communication error. (Not the same as a connection error.)
    Check the following Port Ranges on your router/modem to ensure that the following Port Ranges have been opened/forwarded/triggered:
    ▼TCP
    54992 through 54994,
    55006 through 55007,
    55021 through 55040
    *This can be done by visiting www.portforward.com, locate your specific Router/Modem Brand and Model Number from the 'List of Routers', and you will find a step-by-step guide on how to access your ports.

    If you have properly configured your router, and you are still experiencing these issues, our next suggestion is to bypass the router, and connect your console directly to your modem. Please ensure that you power down both the modem and the console for at least five minutes before attempting to connect to FINAL FANTASY XIV.

    If you continue to receive these same errors when you are connected directly to the modem, then the problem lies with your ISP. We would recommend contacting them and advising them that one or more of the ports previously provided to you are being blocked or filtered, and that you do need access on these ports.

    yeah im still getting lag on ps4 since december i play on ps4 moogle server (EU) and today the lags has went from lasting 1 second to 3 to 4 seconds again and ive already tried the troubleshooting steps and that never resolved my lag and my other online games i dont get lag so go figure.
