    I've searched on google on how to resolve this. None of the solutions shown helped. Some of the results were in past threads. HOWEVER, I DO know what caused it. Due to some conflicts with some other program I use, I had to install a windows update to enable TLS 1.1 and 1.2 as default secure protocols(https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...e-protocols-in). However, I can't rollback this update due to my computer deleting the system restore point. I tried disabling them in internet options, but that didn't work. So now, i'm unable to play the game. I tried reinstalling, but the error still persists. In fact, I can't even patch the game now.

    Never mind. Fixed it. Had to change the value in defaultsecureprotocols to match the one in secureprotocols.
