Hello , Are you still experiencing this issue? please keep us updated on your issue.Hello everyone and Support-Team,
I don't know how known this issue is, some people told me, that it is known by the SE-Team but couldn't give me any proof of that, I couldn't even find it here (maybe didn't see that).
So the issue is as following:
Since some patch (I can't really say when, because I didn't notice until I opened my Task-Manager) my GPU-usage is @100%. (it must have been a patch after 4.0, because everything was fine after release).
Just for general information, I'm using a NVIDIA GTX 970.
The point is, others with better GPU's like the GTX 1080 are at about 80% and so on, it's way too high. I can't stream anymore, because of this issue (and it was no problem before!).
Is there any information regarding this issue? I'd like this problem to be addressed, because I believe the lag issue in dungeons etc is coppled with this issue, too (like in Byakko with the balls coming from center sometimes "lag", seems like GPU load peaked there or something).
And even tested around a little, even in non crowded places, like my house or the guest-room, it's load is on about 90-100%, changing the settings didn't change much either! Someone else with a 970 as well can confirm this, so yes this is a real thing and has nothing to do with my general setup!
Hope there is information about this soon!
with kind regards
John
This issue is a constant thing, so yeah, as mentioned, since some patch and many more are having this issue. It doen't make the game "unplayable", but it does make it impossible doing something else on the PC like streaming.
I will leave a picture here, just so u see what is meant
Btw, my CPU is sleeping there, would spend some of the CPU's power to regain some of my GPU's
Other Infos: Playing on DX11 and on max settings (plus optimisation from NVIDIA Experience). I play on Renderless Window Mode and thats all.
And as SimplyJames168 said, changing settings to lower specs doesn't change alot (like nothing at all).
Edit: Just got something interesting, a friend of mine is using an older GPU, it's the GTX750 and has a GPU load of around 30%.

Thank you for the update joegoku.
Have you tried directx 9 mode? Does this have any difference?
You mentioned you were using Nvidia Experience, have you tried disabling that? Do you have any other overlays/programs like that running at the same time?
Have you ever overclocked your GPU in the past (not necessarily now)?
We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!
Tried DX9 and disabled NVIDIA Exp Overlay, same, even at Titel-Screen:Thank you for the update joegoku.

Did no overclocking at all (even so its a OC-Version GPU and especialy made for overclocking from ZOTAC) The GPU is a year old or so, so it's still in it's "youth".
No other Programs running, no overlays active and same Problem. It's like FF says "you have to go full throttle now, GPU". Everything else works fine, other games and stuff all run as they should and as said, I didn't have had the problem before, not at 4.0 launch either. Others have it too, someone with the same GPU is in my static as well and can confirm this.
And as mentioned before, a GTX750 runs smoothly with minimal settings, my GTX970 is still on fire with low settings (or mid-notebook settings). GTX1080 from someone else is on about 70-80. Maybe an issue with the Chips of NVIDIA with the 9xx and 10xx Generation on FF XIV right now?
