GM Iluvoratin suggested to post here: novice network abuse

First off Iluvoratin has been very helpful with calls in the past. Great GM.

Lately people have been abusing their mentor powers to kick others without a clear reason and something needs to be done about this or the system changed slightly. I have people blacklisted and do not even talk to them in the novice network but they are still able to kick me or others without fear of punishment. It's a bit odd really and I hope the mentor 'power' changes soon because as it is now, it is too easy to abuse and randomly kick people who aren't doing anything. I was in an instance and nothing was said really then got kicked alongside some reason afterward that didn't make any sense. However, the damage was already done even though I had gotten many messages after saying "what just happened" with the person who kicked logged off to avoid punishment.

There has to be another way to handle this.

1st of all, I joined an fc to get help with the game. Wile most mentors in NN are helpful, there's always going to be a few control freaks that kick people because they can't handle constructive criticism. I watched a mentor kick someone because they were on the wrong side of an opinion poll, then kick another player for telling him he has a Napoleonic complex. My suggestion is find a helpful fc to join, and stop pretending that GMs are good for anything other than empty promises and lip service. I've been dealing with SE moderation since I started playing FFXI in 2004 and my experience is that submitting reports goes nowhere. Even when RMTs were blatantly using hacks to camp NMs in XI.

I guess the reason for this is cuss people complain soo much about the littlest things, the crew can't keep up with reading through them all so a lot of people get ignored... not cuss the GM's don't care.. but more like because some people need to learn to act like adults. Suck it up and move on.
