Because it's easier to be snarky with the kind of trite response that goes "You mean like this?" instead of, you know, actually informing them of how to more accurately link (and then pretending they were trying to be helpful all along).
If the glamour is good enough I don't mind dying a few times.
No one knows how difficult Eureka will be but just being able to wear FFXI and job spedific glamour is already great in that way.
Correct, thank you.

The first response was not "You mean like this?" but "You mean this?". You know, cause the poster didn't want to "put words in the OP's mouth", maybe?! The second non-OP post clearly explained the difference, again, without any ill intentions.
On the other hand, we have OP that not only miss-quotes (taken out of context the quoting have a vastly different meaning and that means that the source WAS necessary and the original post could NOT be trusted), that lies ("exact same" means without difference, and the difference is vast when not only the looks are different, but the function), that looks down on people (calling them petty and their valid attempts at helping her make her point properly likewise), considers people wrong for using actual forum features properly just cause the OP does not (expecting others to either use default settings or deal with it) and shifts the blame for derailing of the thread on others when he/she was the one that did it (if they didn't respond negatively to the first response, the thread would follow what it was meant to despite the sore lack of proper, as in complete, information in the original post).
As for the thread itself, the post is about Eureka, so it is fair to believe that these will be new items that will be rewarded within eureka that may just share a skin with something otherwise locked, but it may be simply similar instead, just like Shisuis caster gear and the one from the summer event. Especially since Eureka is said to be a self-contained zone progress-wise, it may very well mean these will be only useable within Eureka as well. So it's not really something to be making praises for yet.

You may have the right of it. New gear that may have appearances that don't reflect classes which usually can wear them. Or even gear with stats that change to what class you obtain it on?To be honest, I'm not sure the quote means what you think it might mean.
The context is talking about Eureka. Which my thinking is most likely "new" gear especially from Eureka will have no job restrictions (minus our Relic/AF3). Again that just seems to be my understanding on the matter. I don't think they're going to go back and redo like a lot of stuff just no longer having role/job restrictions. Though I wish they would on some stuff.

I thought it meant that along with job-locked AF3 relic gear with customizable stats we'd be getting the usual Fending/Healing/Casting/Aiming/Striking/Scouting/Maiming armor with customizable stats. So if we didn't care about having a specific armor type for each class, we'd still be able to get "Eureka" gear.
excuse me? that is the reason you are acting like that? I thought you just did not understand. No that is not how you treat people, sorry. grats on derailing your own thread i supposeIt is clear you didn't read the thread at all. Anyone changing their posts per page settings are at fault here. If you bought a digital book which you could arrange differently it's up to you to change back to default. Instead some people here are getting into petty nuances just for the sake of argument
yeah ik, I was givin them the benefit of the doubt that they where acting like that because they did not understand the situation. The reply to me shows I was wrong.Oh. People have explained and the OP knew and understood. See the last quote here. The OP insists that the people she is trying to relate information to should fit her style, instead of the other way round.
And I don't see how people trying to get her to be more accurate when relaying information she knows and others do not know as being petty either, as claimed by Kohdo. Put it this way. A new poster posts multiple times because they do not know how to bypass the 1000 character limit. Another poster tells them how to. Nothing wrong, am I right? In fact, most would be thankful to learn something better and they would edit their post to help others read it better. In this situation, the OP reacted differently instead and insists people should sift through multiple posts.
Anyway, whatever. This is no longer worth it. I won't be making any more posts regarding this.

I'd love to be able to use my bard af50 hat on other jobs...
And my fisher af50 hat....
I waited till the looks were finished to decide. ;P
Side note...
I wonder if we're going to get the crafter/gatherer level 1 sets that the asia versions have through this.
;; I just wanted to talk about the prospect of pretty new glamours stuff...
Anyone have any links to stuff that might have been requested in the past. (Other than the Darklight stuff, someone mentioned that earlierI would like to see a source though.)
I quoted what the topic was to be about. You don't cite a paragraph in a book when citing. Moreover, I already quoted what was sourced. Though we can turn this into a linking 101 class if that's the agenda/priority of this thread now. I notice and know you're trying to help and don't mean it in bad faith but do we have to make it about nuance differences instead of adding to the topic at hand?
Lmao, "agenda".
The link tip was super useful actually, a true TIL. Most people would just say "nice, thanks" when someone points stuff like this out but instead we get an OP defending a link format for 5 pages, lmao.
They could put the dead penalty on xp earned in the instance rather that total xp. That way it still a penalty but ppl wont get scare to try harder stuffs.
Couldnt get worst that you are as you enter it.
