    Monk materia priorities

Hey all, I just have a short question today. Normally I play Scholar (primary healer really...in general...pretty much whenever in a party...), but summoner doesn't suit me so I picked up Monk since I found it enjoyable to punch someone or something in the face with style.

However, I'm not sure if I'm socketing my gear properly or not. How I have it now is whenever I get a new piece of gear (nearing 69 then 70 currently) I'll head to the melder and socket between direct hit or critical, depending on which one isn't maxed out from the item alone.

Though I wonder if I'm doing it right because I heard from a dark knight friend (the only dark knight I trust over PLD and WAR) that direct hit was the thing to aim for over crit, at least for samurais. But do they play that differently that monk should have different melds or do they fit in with similar as well?

Monks get a bit more out of crit due to Chakra Mastery -- enough to put it ahead of DH, though not by an especially huge amount. So yeah, crit>dh>det>ss.

I find it a little funny how the chosen 2 classes I latched onto just so happen to favor crit sockets over most else. Thank you.
