The loot may not be random, but the rolls are. You are always rolling against 7 other people. If a tank piece drops, I roll against one other person. 8 runs with 35 as the highest roll gets frustrating. But loot in Sigmascape isn't overly random? The pieces aren't random that each boss has. The quantity might vary a bit of one piece over another, but I know exactly where to go to get a lens and I know at least one will be there. You can use the tokens to buy what you want instead of hoping the "X of Healing" drops instead of one of the other six versions. It's one of the least RNG heavy loot mechanics in the game.
I don't understand the complaint here?
Random loot keeps people running things for a long time. If everyone got what they wanted right away, people wouldn't run the content anymore and new players would never get the chance to run it at all.
I don't know what the solution is, but I know that If I run O7N or O8N one more time and don't win something despite being #1 DPS every single time I might lose it lol.
These are 10 minute boss fights with average DF players. They don't need to be that long IMO. Keep that for Savage. I'm honestly better off investing my time into pug progging O7S honestly. I'll probably clear that before I get my spring/shaft, let alone both...
When it's good, it's good.
When it's bad, it's bad.
We've all been outrolled countless times. You go back and try again. If you're getting frustrated, take a break to go do something else, or as someone else suggested: form a pre-made and it's over in a max of 8 runs.
The worst ones are when you're on your 15th run of the day, and roll a 95-98...only to lose the damn Sophia bird whistle to someone who is running it for the very first time.
I can relate. I was farming Zurvan for his bird some time ago, which was my last one. Bird after bird dropped, and my rolls were never enough. Finally, after 30 or so runs, one dropped and I rolled a 97. Another person rolled a 98. To say I was salty would be an understatement. In the end it took me around 70 runs to finally win one.

I'm sick of having to run gord/midas/alex/delta/sigma 50 times just to get one piece of loot. The pure RNG paired with low drop rates (1-2 useful items per run) is just frustrating and infuriating. Why do I need to burn 8+ hours of my playtime when someone else gets the same reward in 10 minutes?
Make it the same as savage, or up the drop rate on high demand items (*cough* bolts *cough).
But as to the topic at hand, RNG is RNG. Welcome to every MMO ever. You will learn to pray to the RNGesus soon enough. Or you won't, it's totally up to you. We're lucky to have some bad luck protection in the form of books and totems. Most games don't have that. It can be frustrating, yeah, but that's just how things work.
Normal mode raid is a scam. I refused to grind it for Creator and Deltascape tiers, and will continue to refuse to run it now that we're on Sigmascape.
The gear is the same level as the crafted set, except worse because you can't overmeld it. In the time I spend waiting for queues and trying to out roll people - to say nothing of the weekly restriction - I could easily gather up and craft a couple of sets of gear.
I quit caring about the 24-man stuff too once they dumbed down secondaries/removed accuracy. No point bothering with it if you've been keeping up with Tomestones.
I don't have a problem with RNG, just with my perceived worthlessness of the gear in question.
To be fair when you're doing fights just for the random drop at the end, instead of for the love of the fight itself, everything goes that way. Even if you really love it.
I did the weekly lockout stuff during Midas because I was actively raiding. I actually liked the Midas tier fights... at first. That quickly sours when you're just in there to roll the dice, and your party wipes continuously to dumb things like A7's bombs, or letting the cat reach the boss, or basically anything in A8, etc. And we did Midas the first two or three weeks as a static too, but doing ~8 runs per floor sucks a ton of time away from, y'know, actually doing progression. So we stopped.
It really doesn't help my case that I only liked A11 and A12 from Creator, none of the fights in Deltascape, and novelty in O5 aside, none of the fights in Sigmascape either. Grinding on top of that would be devastating to whatever attachment I have with the game.
