Is it sad that.. Instead of the "If you keep begging you'll end up with nothing" moral of the story, I end up seeing "Never listen to your wife" as the moral instead. :x

Only if you have a wife, I think? If you dont you could be sad about that (while maybe opening a thread on how wives should be accessible to everyone and that even then you wont settle for anything but blond, blue eyes and 60-90-60 figure) and then about seeing this moral (first) - I honestly believe that both were intended... you know, fairytales with evil witches, evil stepmoms and nasty wives... wouldnt surprise me if the authors/story tellers were just afraid of the women in their lives. But this shouldnt end up in a discussion about morals of fairytales!

Take home message in either way: Dont be greedy and dont listen to your wife if shes greedy!
