You can’t place items on stages?

I upgraded to a larger house with the new Housing rollout. I had a vision to make a music room, a mini concert hall. I put in the partitions, made the large stage, and a bunch of chairs to circle the stage.

I start pulling my Manor instruments out of the storeroom to put on the stage and to my extreme disappointment I find you cannot place items on it.

Why have a stage you can’t put items on?

I think they're classed as tables so only tabletop items can be put on them.

You can put items on it, just not the instruments. Any tabletop item can go on the stage. I feel your pain though. Many of us would love to be able to put the Manor Instruments on the stage or a platform of some sort.

I've seen someone else say this, but I've never been able to get it to work. Tried it just now with the Cello and it just gives me the "unable to place item" error.

You need to position yourself so the cello still has enough room on the stage in front of you and its not being blocked by anything. If you are getting the cannot place error its because the cello doesn't have enough room or something else is in the way. There are a few ppl on various sites who have used the trick to place instruments on stage, and I just used it today to but something on my stairwell, so it still works.

Its hard to get the hang of but once you do you can place things exactly how you want them. After they are placed you can turn them but not move them, so as long as you get the where you want them you can turn them to face the way you want. It's really not any harder than the floating object trick, just tinker with it and I'm sure you will get it.

For those not in the know. Put the item you want to place in your housing storage, not you inventory. Then go to where you want to place it, line yourself up and click it to see where it lands (it should glow blue when you do this), as soon as you get an idea where it appears in front of you, turn your character til you are able to get it where you want it and click "place". Viola, you just put it where its not supposed to go. And if this is confusing for you, there are lots of youtube vids that take you thru this step by step.

I'm pretty sure it's listed under tables, as that's where I found it in my storage last night to try and see if I could do the new loft glitch with it. I couldn't, which technically was fine since I didn't want a loft in that house, but I did kind of want to try one in my apartment since I fell in love with the one in my FC room (pre-UI glitch fix). But you're right, the description is completely misleading!

This is what I was doing, on an empty stage with plenty of space, but I guess I can keep trying. I've used the storage glitch successfully for a lot of other things but nothing on the stage.
