Thread: Graphics lag/stuttering since 4.2

Hello,

My PC was able to play FF14 perfectly well on max graphics settings prior to the 4.2 patch, using the DX11 client.

Since the patch, I frequently experience graphics stuttering, when there are numerous animations on the screen, or even when I'm simply changing direction or panning the camera.

This issue did NOT exist prior to the patch, so I'm thinking it has something to do with a patch change.

I have updated my graphics drivers to the latest version, ensured all Windows Updates are up-to-date, and had no relief. It is really degrading gameplay as in intense fights I have lost control of my character long enough to cause many deaths and/or wipes. A delay of even a second on an Extreme fight is all it takes to die to an AoE or wipe the group if I fail to execute a mechanic.

System specs:
AMD 8400 CPU
32GB DDR5 dual-channel RAM
FF14 and Windows installed on Samsung 840 EVO SSD
nVidia 1060 GTX graphics card
Windows 10 pro

yeah the whole game is a fcking mess since 4.2.

It seems you have already tried some of the troubleshooting steps that we would suggest, Although there is a couple more steps to try. Make sure that any program that provides and overlay is also disabled. For example, if you have an Nvidia card, the drivers may suggest installing Geforce Experience. As this may interfere with the game, we suggest leaving this disabled or uninstalled. Also, try disabling or closing all background applications/programs. You can also try turning Directx 11 off and seeing if that helps.
