    Error Codes [20512] [25008] [10009]

So I'm a PS4 player, been enjoying the game, but I am unable to download the recent 4.2 patch. I'm currently using a LAN cable connection to my router, and we use satellite internet.

Every time I try to download the 4.2 patch, it starts out okay, but eventually, and quickly, begins to slow to a crawl - to the point where it basically stops before I'm hit with an 'Unable to download patch files' message, with the corresponding error codes of [20512] [25008] [10009]. Normally this wouldn't be a big issue, however, every time this happens and I try to re-start the download, it re-starts the entire patch over. No download progress is ever saved, so I'm constantly re-trying to download the same 1.5 GB patch.

I've restarted my PS4, unplugged and replugged the router, I've done port forwarding to the appropriate ports and with the correct protocols, and assigned a static IP to my PS4, but nothing has worked so far.

Good afternoon and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

It looks like you have done a lot of the things we normally suggest, however, we do have a few more troubleshooting suggestions.

Please make sure that "Cookies" and "JavaScript" are ENABLED on the PSN Browser. This can be done by going to the web browser on the PS4, press the options button, then go to settings. The options for Cookies and Javascript will most likely be checked, uncheck them and then recheck them.

The fault may also lie with the "Date & Time" settings on your PlayStation 4. We would advise to please follow the provided steps to adjust your console's clock to assure it is accurate and up-to-date:
Close the FINAL FANTASY XIV game/application.
Go to [SETTINGS] on your PS4.
Select [Date and Time], and "Set via Internet". (Please do not manually set the date and time.)
Once, the date and time settings have been updated, please restart your PlayStation 4 console.
Once your console has fully restarted, please start the FINAL FANTASY XIV game/application.
Please make sure all other internet-enabled devices (including smartphones, laptop/desktop PCs, tablets, etc.) have been disabled and/or turned OFF to minimize game interference.

Please let us know if you are still having trouble.

We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!

Hey, thanks for getting back to me. I appreciate your time and assistance. Unfortunately, I've taken the steps mentioned in an effort to once again download the patch files, being un- and re-checking the cookies and java in internet browser, making sure to set the clock by internet, as well as turning off the wi-fi on most devices, ie. 3DS, phone, and laptop, but the same error is still popping up.

Hello Corue, Thank you for your response.

Have you tried contacting your ISP regarding this issue? Or maybe trying to download the patch at different times of the day?

    Hope to be of assistance.

I'm not sure how, but trying it earlier today when the weather was clearer seems to have worked out, and I've managed to download the 4.2 patch. I've never encountered this problem before, but here's hoping it doesn't happen again. Thanks again for your time!
