What SE needs to do is limit people's ability to price change, once every hour per Retainer.

I would love for the listing fee to apply when you first put the item up, and any time you want to adjust it. Might stop some of the MB price camping people seem to do.
As far as listing - I'll normally undercut by 5 gil, for reasonably priced items. If currently listing are way above current sales, I'll figure something else out. If someone keeps undercutting a slow selling item every day - I'll start dropping massive chunks at a time.
I don't actively try to make gil and I definitely do not find playing the MB fun. I sit on a decent cushion for my needs, and that's good enough for me :3
No? .......
I'd rather SE let capitalism and supply and demand dictate the market, thanks. They're not forcing us to play the marketboard. Imposing unneeded restrictions would make succeeding at it much less enjoyable.
I take it you never saw 2 people undercut spam each other by 1 second intervals for 1 hour. (That is possible when one raises it back up because it goes too low, then person 2 fixes it to be slightly under person A again and they keep going. Also you do that by having 2 copies of the item in question on 2 different retainers, so you change the price on one, then go to the second retainer cuz you know the person is going to undercut by the time you load up the second retainer.)
I get the idea of capitalism but come on there needs to be some kind of limit otherwise you are encouraging carpal tunnel syndrome at that point. Personally I wouldn't do it, my health is more important but geeze some people are crazy.
SE wouldn't just be affecting those people with this change. They would be affecting the people who put something up and "oh shit, I meant to add a zero" and now they're screwed. Or someone recalculates what something cost and wants to make an adjustment. There are plenty of valid reasons to adjust prices that would be negatively affected by something they really don't need to regulate for players.
Or SE should go back to the XI days where you didn't see the prices of said item and you had to actually bid on items. Seeing the prices on items was the worst thing they ever did. Also bring back taxes when you put stuff up on the MB to discourage the constant abuse of pricing changing.
Yeah idk what people say about "free market" this game has excessive price undercutting. At worst people with no life prevents people from selling stuff, or makes them so low it is not worth making/ doing.Or SE should go back to the XI days where you didn't see the prices of said item and you had to actually bid on items. It is one thing to change prices every hour or every day, not every second for 1 hour from spamming 2 different retainers to keep a pace like that.
Anyways, +1 to your post
