I always undercut by 1 gil unless the person selling it has a value like "85391"

Then I just undercut by 100 because nobody has time to type all that.

Edit: That said, I do recall my boyfriend being angry at people selling something for 150-500k that took less than 25k to craft, so he undercut them all MASSIVELY by selling his stuff for 50k. That's a morality thing though, not really a greed thing. LOL

    1. Evaluate the prices.

    2. Go 200-500 Gil lower first. Do not just drop it by 10,000 Gil. You do want to make money right?

    3. Your thing gets overshadowed by lower prices. No big deal! If everyone priced at lower increments, instead of being desperate, we’d all get similar profits from that item. Unless it becomes more common however. Items demoted to being common will naturally fall in price.

That’s it. It’s simple. Please don’t undercut obnoxiously.
Undercutting by less than 1% is what I consider obnoxious. My most recent undercutting binge was jump-starting the 3-star mat market. NQ mats listed for 400% markup, I'll list for 50% markup and watch stuff sell.

Welcome to the free market, where I can decide to sell whatever I can, for however much I can. Especially since 99% of it is gotten completely free(none of my time spent getting it - thanks retainers!)

Just for this post, I'm gonna keep undercutting by boatloads. Not because I'm still making a profit, no, but because I feel like it.

People who complain about undercutting are generally the one who don't understand economics 101 and flood the market with goods. Supply, demand.

Well i hate both undercutters and flooders, even if something is abundant or easy to make you should always sell in small amounts to create illusion of low supply so you can milk harder.

The only time it bothers me is when people list items for the npc resale price. Why even bother using the marketboard at that point? Otherwise if people crash a market, I take my items and just wait for it to go back up like it always does

/That/ befuddles me, especially with furniture and the like. At least sell it for a mild profit, even if it's just 100 gil.

When this happens and stuff is lower than the resale price (thank you undercut wars) I like to buy and sell to a vendor for profit =^ω^=
