Our FC finally got a medium and I was able to move my personal house to the same ward as the FC house. All this happened with a minimum of fuss. I didn't even make an extra effort to move - it was painless. (I was there for the last housing rush) In both the ward I left and the new ward there are plenty of empty spaces. Yes they are small lots - but plenty of availability. I didn't go looking for med/large so can't comment on how many there are. Given all the constraints I say "good job" on the housing issue.
There are many plots still available on Behemoth, too. This was a step in the right direction. I am a single large owner in Shiro after upgrading from a small in the LBs this patch (plot 16). My neighbors are an FC who I beat to the large by about 6 minutes and they settled in the medium around the corner (closer to MB). They are incredibly friendly towards me and do not care I got the large for myself. They are grateful to have had anything. Surprised, even, that a medium was availible for so long. And there's still a plethora of smalls for personal houses or smaller FCs.
I spend about 4 hours a day when I play at my house crafting for my friends, FC and myself (and now many members of this FC). I use my large more as a solo than anyone on my block as an FC.
I know everybody's experience here is personal and people have a right to be upset if that experience is negative - but my own personal experience is not many people I've met actually care that they didn't get a large. They are happy to have anything. The people who I see here complaining (rightfully so in many cases) are those who didn't get what they wanted. But you have to admit A LOT more people benefited from this housing patch than last time.
Now, the next step could be to allow ONLY FCs that have been active for 6 months or longer get a house so you don't get the joke FCs taking up whole wards.
Or, just continue like this. Release housing patches bit by bit until things settle. I lived in a small for 8 months, perfectly happy but wanted to upgrade. That's a viable route.
If you didn't get a house this patch, settle in a small if available and wait for the next patch to relocate.

If you stop thinking of larger houses as a necessity, and just as a status symbol, maybe your outlook will change. Larges are meant to be low supply high demand. Of course everyone wants them.

I think it was great. My wife & I got a small FC house (all we could afford) in Lavender Beds (a gorgeous small plot with a view No 29).
No aspirations for a med or large yet.
Now I just need to con someone on Behemoth into loaning me 3Mil so I can relocate my small personal from Goblet closer to the FC house. LOL
If that plot was in ward 10 on Behemoth then you moved into my old place which was vacated when I relocated yesterday. Great view. Very happy for you!!!I think it was great. My wife & I got a small FC house (all we could afford) in Lavender Beds (a gorgeous small plot with a view No 29).

Ward 15, I think. We love it. Took all the gil we had saved up for that and the workshop though lol. Now our problem is getting 4 people in a party to be able to advance the airship project. LOL
Also, now i need to save up to relocate my personal house to a small in a different district than Goblet.
Fun times! Hope to see some other people on Behemoth. We've been plying for a while, but haven't made many friends.

At least on famfrit (and I'm assuming other low pop servers) there are still larges available so if a FC can't find the time in a whole day to purchase a large/medium do they really have a right to complain a personal relocated there. And for high pop servers, did you really expect to be guaranteed a large/medium, there is literally more of you in the same position.
From what I've been reading the only thing they messed up on was locking FCs that were made after the announcement of how housing would be done this patch to stop people from doing what happened on Ragnarok I believe with the large raiding FC getting tons of houses. In general though I think this was a major step forward.

So buy a sucky plot this time when they open up personal housing, and when they add more wards upgrade to that dream plot since you will be able to transfer during the no-new-personal-housing-sales period. It's the new veteran rewards system.

Cactuar had over 1,200 houses when I counted them last night. Most were smalls, but there were still a lot of mediums. Most were in the Goblet. Considering Cactuar is the third highest pop server now (somehow), it’s amazing there are still houses available. However, so many people seem to think that smalls and mediums are beneath them, but still complain about how badly they need/want/deserve a house.
Why though? What makes an FC with 20+ members “more important” than an FC with less than that? Instead of asking for restrictions on Larges, maybe we should be asking for more Larges to be added in general.
