To me, that just goes to show how little love the Goblet gets. I personally don't like the way it looks. Even with that added centerpiece, everywhere else around it is blah. The other 3 zones had no problems with their Ms getting snatched. My fc moved to a M in another ward in LB, and within a minute a personal home owner had taken up residence in the old spot (also a M).

Earlier tonight i decided to do a count both for my own interest and to potentially share. At midnight eastern(day and a half after the patch) i started counting open plots. I was sitting in the goblet at the time and intended to do all 4 zones. After finishing just the goblet, i decided the others werent even worth looking at. The goblet on my server still had 10 large plots open, like 100 mediums, and more smalls then i was willing to count. Just... wow. When shiro went live we sold out(all plots all zones) in about 6 mins, but enough FCs/relocaters dislike goblet so much that there are that many premium openings?

    Yes it's true.

A lot of previously homeless FCs with very little chances to get plots finally got homes, how is that a step back?

Its a step back in the fact, they let people that already had a house upgrade,as they relocated.I can see a FC doing that, because they can grow and would need the more for their members, but for personal use its a bit much.

I'll maintain the stance I've had for a while now: revamp and expand the apartment system dramatically to accommodate individual housing. Unlimited instances, different sizes and styles. Do it correctly from the start instead of limping along with a hamstrung system like they've been inclined to do with housing. Ward-based housing should continue to be FC only (I say this knowing I'd have to give up my house), and all gameplay relevant systems tied to housing should be relocated elsewhere.

They've had a schizophrenic approach to the whole of housing from the day personal housing was pushed out the door quietly like the tragic little mess it is and the systems and abuses we've seen over the years are a direct result of that and will never improve until it's rethought and likely retooled.

That said I think this patch's implementation was a step in the right direction. There are a ton of plots available on even the most populated servers (including M plots) and FCs in waiting are finally able to get their foot in the door, assuming the door isn't "an M or L in Shirogane or bust." Any FCs that were upset at not getting a house in previous patches and are balking at the idea of buying a small now that they're plentiful weren't actually upset at not getting a house.

I feel like SE doesn't realize how many new members want houses and actually have the gil for it. If you've been playing for a year or longer and really wanted a house, you would already have it.

But you would have to place size minimums on houses. Because a five member FC buying a larger house is no different than an individual moving into one. If you’re saying space is the primary concern.

I think FC's with under 10-15 members should be barred from buying large houses during the initial week.

Again, larger FCs should be prioritized for those kinds of plots.

This won't actually solve the problem you're hoping it's going to solve, because people will just flood their small FC with dummy members for the buying period and then dump them afterwards. You could try to regulate that as well but the overhead required to actually scan these FCs and logs for abuses isn't free and at some point becomes unwieldy. I'm not trying to argue against the spirit of your idea, don't get me wrong. I'm only saying that it's unenforceable.
