Logged out of second Client Notice?

I just got 90'k, and upon trying to log back in, the game told me to wait while my character was logged out of a second client. WHAT?!

Should I be worried???? I use a Token, which though I know it doesn't make me impervious to the crap of the internet - it should count for something, right?
Anyway, I wanted to know if anyone else had experienced this lately?

Don't want to contact support over me being spooked for misunderstanding a potential notification bug (or just my ignorance in general).

No, it likely just means you're ghosting (as in, YOU are the second client and your character just hasn't disappeared from the server yet).

A bunch of people got 90kd just now, myself included.

I had received this notification a few times too when got 90'k.

Your old connection prolly hadn't timed out yet.

Prior to 4.2, if you suffered a 90k, you would have been unable to log in due to a 3102 error (character already logged in). You would have had to wait until your old connection timed out and the server closed out your character data. As of 4.2, however, trying to reconnect tells the server to boot the old you so that you can get back on.

This is a great thing! (Trust me, I was 3102ed for over two whole days once.)

You use a security token, so I wouldn't worry too much.

I have connection problems, so that thing isn't something to worry about. They just removed notification that your character is still in game (try again or contact support) and put this for auto-reconnect so you don't need to try and log in many times until game lets you in after dc.

(Also I don't think it was my end, more the game didn't want me to turn the dragon lamp, because it deemed being sat in the middle of the floor at a wonky angle to be perfect - "NO TOUCH! /90k")

It certainly is gut-churning to see the new message if you don’t know what it means. When I read the patch notres, I was worried that SE was foolishly opening up the doors to possible account theft, but it telling the server to kick your character so you can log back in certainly is a nice feature, and will probably end up with a lot less people getting kicked from parties when they D/C in a dungeon.

Still, it would probably be best if people with similar concerns for their accounts get authenticators. Changing your password periodically is a good idea on top of that, as extra security helps.

This is a super amazing change to the game. I have multiple times been locked out of the game, because I 90ked while zoning. When that happens, depending on the timing of the 90k, both your server, and the duty server think your on the other server, so you cant log into either. Having a forced logoff is amazing.

(And I am talking I was locked out of the game for 2 weeks while I waited on next downtime)

Ohhhh yeah, DF limbo via 90k. Been there before, loved not being able to log in forever and ever. >_>
