Perform sounds weird because key layout? - Explained, ty

Hi! I just unlocked Bard because I thought that playing music in game would be fun. I don't have any experience with music before. I've been practicing my scales and today I decided to try a song. But when I played it it kinda sounded wonky, and I realized that was because the keys are layed out C-C1 and not A-G. Is C-C1 a common way to look at a keyboard slice and I'm just doing it wrong? Is there a way for me to make the layout A-G?

To illustrate my problem here is a video of me (very poorly) playing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. It just doesn't sound right!

The most well known scale is C Major because it's all white keys. Starting on A gets you A minor, the relative minor of C Major (that is, the key signatures are the same but the mood is significantly different).

    Yes

Not at this time. But they do provide you the ability to raise and lower the octave. Not ideal, but manageable.

Alternatively, I have heard that midi controllers can be used. Purchasing a 3 octave (37-key) midi controller keyboard would probably greatly improve the experience.

It took a little time but I adjusted to the new layout and shifting octaves mid-song. The harp instrument, however, does not sound as nice to me as the original default harp did when they introduced Performance.

Thanks for the responses! I guess going forward I should be looking for music in C Major. I found a version of Twinkle Twinkle in C Major and it sounds much better. I don't think I'm ready to start messing with octaves too much (and I really wish i could bind them to something that isn't shift cnt or alt...) but I feel like I actually understand now so I should have more luck going forward.
    Thanks so much!!
