Airships/Submarines/Workshop For Individuals

Hi, with new housing available can SE finally please allow individual house owners the ability to have a workshop and be able make/craft housing items and a personal airship and submarine for exploration ventures? Not asking for 4 of each like FCs, just 1 or maybe 2 at max of each would be great. Some mats and items are exclusively locked behind this feature and if you locked out of this, you become subject to an over-inflated market board.

I'd really like this. I'd love to play around with airships and submarines, but I have no interest in running a FC and I'm in a large one for the social factor. I know the leaders put a lot of work into the workshops and the gil goes into FC events and such, so I wouldn't dream of being selfish and asking to play with it myself just for the sake of playing. But I would really like to play with it in my own house if it were possible. A smaller version of the same system would be perfect.

EDIT: Tbh, they should use this as an incentive if they release an additional instanced housing setup to get personal owners to move out of the wards. If you transfer your personal house to an instanced one (of any size), you get access to a small workshop! Instanced housing could be unlimited so everyone would have a chance to save up their gil and get it. I think this would free up a large portion of the wards for FCs. I'd move in a heartbeat.

Anyways I would like this. FCs can have up to four ships right? I don't see why allowing one personal ship would be a problem.

Why aren't we already working with the machinsts in Ishgard or Garlond Ironworks for the airships and subs?

That's a great way to allow a player (albeit, with a bit of effort) a way to get their own airship - especially if they're willing to front all the resources for their own ship.

For that matter, why can't I have an airship that's effectively my house?

FC airships and subs should be for FC use only; however, not everyone has access to mats and things gathered from them, and having to leave an FC you love just to have access to items from airships/ subs doesn't seem like the best idea. Would be much better to allow individuals access to a single airship and sub from Mor Dhona, Foundation, or even from personal housing. There have been lots of ideas about how SE could allow airship/ sub access as well as gardening access that isn't tied to housing to help people have more access to these items. I mean, it's great that you're the leader of a huge FC, but not all of us are so lucky. ;-) ♥ you Zeo. /pet

Even allowing the airship/sub for personal use out of ishgard/kugane or even have a split section at the fc station that allows you to access your personal ship would be cool. Also an easy thing to do if just for personal houses/apartments would be to make the airship station itself a placeable furnishing for your house.

The only FC that I have been in, big or small, that allowed members that put mats, gathering, etc. into the ship running or building to reap some of the rewards is the one my friend has and I co lead now. Got so sick of being used and made our own. Life is good. I am 100% for individuals getting the ability to build and utilize their own ships period.
