Suggestion - 5th Housing Ward - Ishgard

A long time ago toward the end of Heavensward we were told that one day Ishgard housing would open to Adventurers. When is this going to happen SE?

Not only would this add a whole ward worth of housing, it would also provide a niche genre of housing that we are lacking. Classic midevial RPG styled housing! I could also see it making Ishgard more lively, and less dead as it is in its current state.

I would even go as far to say that a 6th housing ward at the end of 4.0 would also be helpful. Perhaps it could be in Ala Mhigo, or maybe in Doma after we rebuild. I don’t care. I’ll take anything at this point. The recent changes have been a tremendous help, but why not keep this trend going?

I agree. For the first time in quite awhile - albeit with purchasing restrictions - it feels like housing supply doesn't vanish the split-second it goes up. With the addition of two additional districts for 50% more housing in total - Ishgard and a TBD end-of-4.0 location - we'd probably be in fairly healthy shape for a change.

PS - additional housing should come at the end of 4.0, NOT at the start of 5.0. That way longer-term, more stable players have first dibs.

I see Ishgard come up from time to time and I wonder what the real appeal is for these houses? Is it the grey and white color palette or the ruble and broken wooden planks? I swear looking at Ishgard is like looking at a black and white television.

It's a city of stone in a snowy region, what else would you expect? But that is also its charm, and some people value it more than others.

I like it because it's probably the closest we're ever gonna get to Gothic architecture, most likely.

I'd rather see them expand apartments before any more wards happen. And that's kinda what I expect them to go with. As I understand it, they fully intend to improve on apartments (at least as far as size goes), and surely they're aware of apartment gardening as a desire. At that point, we will have very nearly achieved the instanced housing everyone calls for (although I still expect dissatisfied players that still want an outdoor space to decorate). Still, achieving that, and continuing to offer FCs first chance at new houses, will make some significant strides towards housing access for most.

More on topic, though, Ishgard isn't the new hotness anymore, so I fully expect they've completely moved on from that idea and will put any future new housing zone resources into 5.0 zones. Sure, Ishgard would be great (and maybe should've happened to begin with), but if it comes at the cost of newer areas not getting it? Never gonna happen.

Judging from where the story is going, my guess is we will eventually be going to the Garlean Empire and it's surrounding lands in a new expansion.
Since it's not feasible lore-wise to let us have housing wards in Garlemand, maybe SE will finally let us live in Ishgard then.

We're going to get a Garlean expansion sooner or later, and it does seem to me like it would be illogical for any housing to occur somewhere in Garlemald. The Garleans don't really like us, I don't think they'd be all to keen to provide us with housing. Perfect time to put up Ishgard housing.

As for your first point, I'd settle for an apartment if they put in a gardening system that wasn't those stupid flower pots. If it lacks a way to crossbreed, I'm not gonna bother dumping gil on an apartment, no matter what they do.

I would love this. A city of snow with hot pools of water here and there and Aurora Borealis above... Would be fun if we could choose icy walls or snow topped roofs for our houses. We could even have snowball fights with neighbors!
