What happens if you're 150/150 inventory and you change to another class, your equipment all unequips and goes...where?How about they add a function so that when you equip it is no longer in your inventory (they can do this in their solo games but not their mmos?), and a function so that each job has it's each own gear slot like how abilities have a preset. I've only seen this type of thing done in a few solo games where you "change weapon sets I/II" this imo would help a ton when it comes to worrying about gear.

The part I mentioned about presets meant that your gear would act like the job skills do and "become hidden" meaning thy would still be equipped but invalid unless you were that class and the slots would be empty giving you another tray to equip gear into for what ever class you changed to. I hope this makes sense >_>

They could implement Equipment Storage NPCs just like in that other mmorpg from SE :3

Quickly Eun, remove that 4-letter acronym from your post. Then people might actually think it's a good idea! I do, at least. ^^;

Dev probably want hardcore players to buy a few extra retainer just to store those U/U item.
As now, I already have one near full retainer of U/U collection only.
P.S. valentine event is coming with more U/U.

Probably already been said but Yoshi stated in 2.0 they're going to lower inventory space to what it used to be @100 (reducing retainers' space as well). Hopefully this coincides with housing and additional storage opportunities. I'm sure it will really, even if the storage is only by adding in a chest as furniture and filling that up.
Luckily our equipped gear won't take inventory space in addition!

Hi Marta,
Yah, I remember reading that (about Yoshida-san saying he was going to *remove* Inventory Space back to 100 slots only for 2.0).
I seriously hope that change comes with a long-term solution for stuff like Unlimited Storage of Unique/Untradeable Items and Seasonal Items. It would be downright baffling if that didn't happen.
Besides that, though, is the problem we're faced with right now (before 2.0). With Job Specific Equipment (JSE) / Artifact Armor coming next patch, it's really going to impact some players' inventories.![]()
i normally am bordering on full invent on me my 2 retainers and my 2nd char almost all the time... what with storing crafting matts for my crafts wepons, tools, gear for all my 50's jobs i am activly lvling along with NM/Raid/Seasonal gears and this new stuff called materia(which again as a main crafter i do a lot of melding/blowing up)..... i am guessing i am going to have to toss a lot of shit to get all my new job specific gears.... personally i do horde but the stuff i horde i do use for my crafts and jobs... a game where we can activly switch jobs on a whim as and when we or our party wants should allow us to carry all gear for each job imo.
i already have to decide what i want to keep toss and sell i dread to think how bad its going to be 2 years down the line unless we have huge storage or they make specialization for crafts class/job. i love how we can switch on a whim. if they had the mailbox back up like how we used to do in ffxi i dont suppose it would be so bad, still i am sure(hope) they do give us some nice items and options for storing them like ffxi had nd also some more ;;

the system in FFXI was the best.... moghouse with a moogle.. when you switched... the items you had equipped the last time with that class will be automatically equipped.
i hope the mannequin system..... at least in 2.0. -.-.... will be like that. its annoying to re-equoip everything when changing classes. why it cant be earlier than 2.0. .. its a secret to me
I'm wondering.. Did people who complain here even played FFXI?
There were even more classes and you had 80 inventory slots.
In FFXIV you have 2 retainers with EACH 150 slots. You can even bazaar 10 on each for some more space & bazaar 10 of your own inventory. A total of 530(!!!) slots.
You really should learn to switch gear from retainer to inventory. Like when you are doing Moogle, you'll probably only use Archer/Gladiator or Conjurer (some THM or DD's are situational), so I only take gear with me for these 3 classes. I also got my craft tools with me to repair stuff, but no gear, since you can repair naked. If you really want to craft during the wait times of entering, you could bring a few pieces of gear.
Still, while having craft stuff with you, fully ready for the battle, you'll only need about 50 slots. So what's the big deal?
I understand you want to switch to every other job whenever you like, but learn to bring only gear which is needed for the situation you are in. We learned that on FFXI, now use those skills!
PS: @ the post above me, about re-equiping gear everytime. That's what macro's are for![]()
