    The market cost of minions

I've noticed that minions in general cost a fairly insane amount of gil (rarely under 2mil a piece, at least on my server).
They don't generally seem rare enough to warrant this cost, either. I've never seemed to have a particularly difficult time seeing them drop in duties; the real difficulty is in actually winning the roll for them.

But here's where it gets even more strange to me; is anyone actually BUYING them at this price? I'm not sure that they are.
I've had a Bullpup on the market at just below the going rate for nearly 2 months now without a sale.
If I'm right, and they don't sell well because of the price... Why does everyone charge so much? Logically supply and demand should result in the prices dropping in order to actually get sales.

You can check the sale history on them to see how well they sell

They'll buy them for ridiculous prices if they are new (like the Byakko Cub right now costs quite a bit), like recent patch additions or super rare/hard to get minions. Other than that, probably not unless it's like Christmas, Valentine's or some other holiday. The ones that drop from unsync dungeons or dungeons that are constantly run probably won't sell for much as time goes on but usually most of them sell for a decent amount.

It's a thing of either you can grind it out and hope to win the inevitable need off with 3 other people, or pay some gil and get it for sure. Minions are usually considered a good source of income for people who don't want to craft/gather. It's a factor of how bad you want it vs. time willing to invest in it.

I had a friend that spent 20 million gil on the hunting hawk before they redid the diadem.

I find it fun flipping the occasional Baby Rat/Bat/Raptor for a pretty profit from players that don't know how easy it is to find those. >_>

But, I mean, that's pretty much what the MB is. Players dumping gil for things they don't want to put effort into.

Your server sounds pretty crazy; on mine, items are (usually) more or less reasonably priced, barring rare things like the Hunting Hawk and Night Pegasus?

Though if you've had the same thing on the MB for months and it hasn't sold yet...why haven't you lowered the price? Just blindly posting items at a slightly lower price than the last guy isn't really best practice; you need to look at the sale history for how much people actually typically spend on the item, and how often it sells. If you're posting an item for 2mil that people usually expect to pay 200k for, you're probably not going to get a sale, no matter how long you leave it up.
