    Behemoth Server Lag Issues

    I am a mentor on the Behemoth Server.

    Beginning Late Last night and occurring in Bursts, a lot of people are experiencing the following:

    1) Connection Timeouts
    2) Large Lag Spikes (in Persistent and Instanced Zones)
    3) Loss of Synchronization (between client/server update)

    We learned through novice network when a player asked if many of us were just booted/disconnected from the server at once, and people responded in affirmation.

    Also, another note.
    I tried logging in with my normal password and it failed. I was forced to change my password in order to continue playing this game.

    I ask that I please not be linked to that thread about "Internet Connections" as I majored in Computer Science and I've ran Server Clusters in the past to know well beyond the basics....

    A recent Square-Enix announcement claimed that Japanese Data Centers were under DDoS Attack. Our server morale is declining, and people are on edge fearing that our Data Center may be next.

    As you can see nothing is really happening to sort this issue so far. SHIVA is just the same and all they do is give us crap answers or try to avoid helping us by diverting responsibility and fault to us although it has almost nothing to do with our ends. if SE doesn't sort this issue it will go on and on and its starting to affect all of the data centers. I keep telling people on SHIVA that its spreading slowly but they just don't want to listen. Now look at it everyone is coming here to complain and wouldn't believe me when I said that its just gonna get worse.

    We apologize for the trouble and inconvenience you and many others have experienced. The sticky thread we have created is specifically for the issues related to the North American Data Centers. This thread was created so we could compile as much data as we could in order to assist with our investigation. It does sound like you are exhibiting the same symptoms so I would suggest performing a trace route and posting it to that forum (as outlined here: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...er/page18/#173). However, we can provide our standard troubleshooting suggestions if you wish. I understand this is not the solution you are looking for, however, please understand that this information is valuable to us finding a proper solution.

    We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!
